So my first wee one is called Róise and I like the name Naoise but think it looks very similar even if it doesn’t sound similar. Any thought or other options please x

To me Róise and Naoise sound similar - of course not entirely the same but a bit too close. I'd also agree with the pp saying that Naoise is a male name.

You have loads of lovely options with Irish girls names. Clodagh, Bláthín, Liadán, Niamh, Aisling to name the first ones into my head.

Reáltín

Sineàd are my favourite Irish girl names.
But you probably need to be in Ireland for them.

Caoimhe?

I really don’t like Naoise for a girl - Naoise is a famous man in Irish legend, I just think it’s stupid giving it to a girl (although appreciate many do).

Why not Laoise if you like that sound? Or Aoife/Caoimhe similar?

I like Ailbhe, Muireann and Mairead too.
