Tabitha or Vivienne

Always loved the name Vivienne but recently I've fallen in love with Tabitha and Bibi (bee-bee) as a nickname possibly at home. Not fussed on nicknames so it's not a deal breaker. Can take or leave them and open to variables.

Which do you prefer

Vivienne or Tabitha ?

I went to school with a Tabitha who told everyone to call her Taz. Completely puts me off the name.

How about Valentina?

Ellmau · 28/11/2020 19:21

Would you consider Viviana?

GeorgiaMcGraw · 28/11/2020 13:37

Vivienne

MikeUniformMike · 28/11/2020 13:17

Not keen on either of them.
I prefer the Vivien spelling to Vivienne.

Jaxxi · 28/11/2020 11:37

Dislike Tabitha.
Vivien is classy.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 28/11/2020 11:30

Vivienne is lovely, Tabitha ok

Lilybet1980 · 28/11/2020 11:29

@Beamur

Vivienne. Tabitha is a cat name. Tabby is not a nice NN for a child.
This. If the poor girl is even slightly dumpy she’ll get called Tubby/Tubs.

Tabitha is a cats name. It’s like calling a boy Fido.

Enko · 28/11/2020 11:26

Vivienne

Chilldonaldchill · 28/11/2020 09:39

Tabitha. Though I prefer Tabs as a nickname myself.

Oneandabean · 28/11/2020 09:13

Tabitha definitely, I love it but my DD can’t say ‘th’ and I can’t deal with tabifa. I love bee as a nn too.

TildaTurnip · 28/11/2020 09:08

I like both but have the same reservations about both that others have mentioned! Tubby Tabby is definitely what I’d have been called at school but that’s the only reason I dislike it.

Love Vianne.

Thanks for taking time to comment
I'll run different reasons for & against past my other half :)

Tabitha, but I'm biased because I have a tabitha 😉 - nn is Tabby and she loves her name, and cats too lol

I also went to uni with a Tabitha and she was very nice

Vivienne is ok, reminds me of the young ones though

Cheesypea · 28/11/2020 06:59

Vivienne is the only way I've seen it spelt in the uk personally. I like it.
Tabby cat?

RickOShay · 28/11/2020 06:58

I really don’t like Tabitha, and she will eventually be Tabby at school.

RickOShay · 28/11/2020 06:57

Vivienne definitely.
I also prefer that spelling Grin

daisypond · 28/11/2020 06:46

Vivien - spelled like that- is my favourite
Tabitha is nice enough. It’s fine on an adult.
Vivienne-no, unless you are French. It’s silly otherwise.

Peachbubble · 28/11/2020 06:25

Tabitha 100%.

HeartShapedBox · 28/11/2020 05:52

Tabitha, it's lovely name 😊

Kote · 28/11/2020 05:40

Vivienne. Really dislike Tabitha, especially with the nickname Tabby.

festivebug · 28/11/2020 05:36

I'm not a fan of either but I much prefer Tabitha.

Masssivefuckup · 28/11/2020 05:28

Tabitha.

There was a Tabitha at my uni - she was incredibly elegant, tall and slim with masses of curly hair, quite posh and studied theology. I was quite in awe of her as you can probably still tell.

Vivienne makes me think of Vyvyan from The Young Ones 🙄

Debradoyourecall · 28/11/2020 04:43

Vivienne makes me think of Vivienne Westwood more than Pretty Woman.

They’re both pretty names. How about Vianne (like the character in Chocolat) as an alternative?

octoberfarm · 28/11/2020 03:06

Love Tabitha!

MercyBodle · 28/11/2020 01:48

I much prefer Tabitha.
