What do you think?
I'm thinking Bronte sounding.
For a boy.
Thoughts welcome 🙂

I too automatically think Wuthering Heights, but it's not bad. People seem to get away with the similar surname as first name Lincoln, so I don't see why you can't use Linton. As pp mentioned the similar Linden (like the tree) could be another possibility.

LemonsYellow · 23/11/2020 17:51

Not a happy connotation from Wuthering Heights, though. Linden?

ChessieFL · 23/11/2020 17:34

My first thought was Wuthering Heights.

Calcifer12 · 23/11/2020 17:31

Linton travel tavern! Grin

ShalomToYouJackie · 23/11/2020 15:08

Sounds like a cross between Lindtt and Thorntons... Now I really want chocolate 😁

TheNanny23 · 23/11/2020 15:03

I have a friend with that surname so I’d assume if I heard a boy called Linton that his friends were calling him by his surname.

Clint or Carlton?

Grumpy19 · 22/11/2020 16:23

Ok. Thanks. Back to the drawing board! 🤣

Sorry, I think of Lynton Crosby, which is not a positive association.

ShouldHaveCouldHaveWouldHave · 22/11/2020 16:20

There’s a Lynton in my family, I like it.

melisande99 · 22/11/2020 15:52

It's the wimp from Wuthering Heights, isn't it? Isabella and Heathcliif's snivelling, selfish son?

TheMarzipanDildo · 22/11/2020 15:52

Linton has fairly unfortunate connotations in Wuthering Heights doesn’t it? I mean all of the characters are dodgy in that book.

BowiesJumper · 22/11/2020 15:49

Travel tavern...

joybrightnice · 22/11/2020 15:39

It's a village near me so no and reminds me of lint.

BurningEars · 22/11/2020 15:37

What about Clinton?

BurningEars · 22/11/2020 15:37

I don’t like it.

icedaisy · 22/11/2020 15:35

Village in Scottish Borders to me

Squiffany · 22/11/2020 15:30

Linton-on-Ouse is a village in Yorkshire. Makes me think of that.

TotalBitch · 22/11/2020 15:29

Not keen... I know a Lincoln, which again, isn't to my taste, but you might like. There is also the Irish name Finton?

MaltedMilk88 · 22/11/2020 15:29

Not for me but if you like it that's all that really matters

rooarsome · 22/11/2020 15:29

I also associate it with Edgar Linton from Wuthering Heights

SingleHandSue · 22/11/2020 15:25

As long as the middle names are Travel and Tavern...

Grumpy19 · 22/11/2020 15:25

Ok. It's looking like a no so far.

It's a surname.

TeaAndHobnob · 22/11/2020 15:23

Are you a fan of Linton Kwesi Johnson OP?

Tolleshunt · 22/11/2020 15:23

It has unhappy connotations for me because of Wuthering Heights.
