Mimi for short

Always loved mimi as a nickname/short name. Any ideas on longer versions - not quite enough of name on it's own, for me!

Thank you!

The Mimis I know are short for either Imogen or Hermione

I adore Cosima, though, since Nigella Lawson named her daughter it.

fitflopqueen · 27/11/2020 22:15

I know a Mimi in her 20's now, she is Amelia to her mum & dad.

Bruce2 · 27/11/2020 21:52

I know a Jemima who is known as Mimi
Very cute

@DramaAlpaca

Cosima, like Nigella Lawson's daughter.
I was going to say the same. It is a lovely name.
FallenSkies · 26/11/2020 18:24

I know one adult mimi, who is an Emily, and one child mimi, who is an Amelia

derekthe1adyhamster · 26/11/2020 18:22

The one I know is an Imogen

The only mimi I knew in real life was a Mary.

kobo · 26/11/2020 11:44

I know two, one short for Hermione and the other Imogen.

Pinkypink · 22/11/2020 19:15

I know one short for Miriam and one as a nn for Romy

Wanderdust · 22/11/2020 17:25

My aunt gets called that and she's Marie. Maybe Maria?

OwlOne · 22/11/2020 10:23

Oh Naomi or Noemi as a middle name are both beautiful.

Any name you like beginning with M with Noemi as a middle name (or Naomi)

Jemima.
Miranda.
Emilia

Lobsterquadrille2 · 22/11/2020 09:52

I have a Miranda and I don't think Mimi is an obvious abbreviation at all. Infinitely preferable to "Mandy" which she was called at school though. The two Mimis I know are both Jemima. One has a sister Imogen (also suggested here) who has always been Midge.

BabloHoney · 22/11/2020 09:49

I know a Mimi who’s full name is Camilla

Miriam...Mimi

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 22/11/2020 08:37

The Mimi I know is short for Maia - and she's a sweetheart.

MimiDaisy11 · 22/11/2020 08:23

I didn't know there were so many names that had this nickname. I have it with certain people and my name's Michelle.

SE13Mummy · 22/11/2020 01:00

I think it works for any name that has the 'me' sound within it e.g. Emilia, Amy, Mia, Naomi, Noeme, Jamie/Jaime.

It's interesting to see so many posts suggesting it as a nickname for Miriam. The Miriams I know go by Miri or Mim if they don't use their full name.

DramaAlpaca · 22/11/2020 00:34

Cosima, like Nigella Lawson's daughter.

newnewnewbuild · 22/11/2020 00:33

The only mimi I know is an Amelia

Rockmehardplace · 22/11/2020 00:32

The only Mimi I know is short for Amelia.

I like the idea of it being short for Naomi

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 21/11/2020 23:52

Miriam.
