We like either Aurora or Sage for our baby girl, which one do you like better? Is Aurora too common now?

@YukoandHiro It's gender neutral but far more common for girls. Smile

festivebug · 26/11/2020 08:28

Sage!Smile
I do really like Aurora though.

joystir59 · 25/11/2020 21:29

Saugacia is better than either Sage or Aurora imo

missmouse101 · 23/11/2020 21:57

Can't bear roar roar roar. Sage is very sweet.

Ellmau · 23/11/2020 21:44

Aurora is lovely.

Miljea · 22/11/2020 19:21

Aurora needs to be ethereal. It wouldn't sit well on a non ethereal girl.

Sage is a government advisory committee.

PoodleMoth · 22/11/2020 17:18

Love Sage, used to really like Aurora but it does seem to be a bit common at the moment!

laudemio · 21/11/2020 13:42

Aurora is much nicer. Sage makes ne think of accounting software and the scientific advisory group.

MrsBrunch · 21/11/2020 13:38

Aurora is a very popular choice at the moment. My friend's grandaughter is 'a roarer' as she terms it i.e. cries a lot at the moment.

GaraMedouar · 21/11/2020 13:19

I can’t say my r’s. I say Auworwa for Aurora. I’d hate that to be my name!

lurch3r · 21/11/2020 13:15

I'm a primary teacher with a slight speech impediment and a child called Aurora is the stuff of nightmares.

afrikat · 21/11/2020 13:06

Aurora! Love that name

Tomatoandbasil · 21/11/2020 12:58

Aurora is lovely

A saige is a fortune teller or wise person isn,t it. DEf Aurora. Sage also sounds Male to be.

MercyBodle · 21/11/2020 11:38

Aurora.

PenguinErector · 21/11/2020 10:35

Of the 2 I prefer Sage but my first thought is "do they have a sibling called onion".

I've met 2 Aurora's in my life - a child with a speech impediment who introduced herself as "Ohlola" until she was almost 8 which of course stuck as her nickname and an adult who has always gone by Rory because she doesn't think she's girly enough to carry off a Disney Princess name.

ODFOx · 21/11/2020 10:29

Sage is a boys name to me.
I know one of each ( both older teens) but still, it seems like a boy's name.

CrossingBoundaries007 · 21/11/2020 10:25

Both of them bring my work to mind, ie AWS Amazon Aurora and Sage the software, but that’s just me I suppose.

Zolaanna · 21/11/2020 10:24

Please don't use sage it's awful

EugenesAxe · 21/11/2020 10:19

Well Sage is an accounts package but I am an accountant and 'wisdom' is the connection I made.

Personally I really like Sage and agree it sounds sweet. I know an Aurora... let's just say she puts me off the name.

itsgettingweird · 21/11/2020 10:11

I like them both.

But if I'm honest after 2020 Sage has an entirely different meaning to me now and I'd not want to call my kid that.

Scarby9 · 21/11/2020 09:39

I prefer Sage.
Sorrel may be a good alternative if you can't choose?

pinkpinecone · 21/11/2020 09:35

Aurora is lovely, Sage makes me think of stuffing

Whatsyourflava · 21/11/2020 09:22

Aurora is a lovely choice
Sage i think of "sage advice" and also thought it was for a boy. Not keen but ok for middle name

YukoandHiro · 21/11/2020 09:13

Sage is usually a name for a boy isn't it?
