Myles or Alfie

We were set on Alfie - but We now really like Myles. Our other children have quite classic names - Myles would be "out there" compared to the other kids!

I like both!! Alfie Miles flows quite nicely too!

MrsG30 · 17/11/2020 19:49

We have an Alfred which has ended up being shortened to Alfie - I’m yet to meet another one and he’s 3 now.

Can’t stand Myles, sorry 🙈 but not my baby so doesn’t matter! (I don’t like Miles either fwiw)

Apple222 · 17/11/2020 19:35

Miles with an i.

Every time!

blondie87 · 17/11/2020 19:20

Miles is my preference. It’s a quirky classic.

LittleTiger007 · 17/11/2020 14:07

I prefer Alfie or Albie to be a bit different. Miles is a bit stuck up where I’m from.

DivGirl · 16/11/2020 15:30

Miles or Alfred. Alfie is awful and I cannot hear it without my brain filling in “army” at the end (after that poor boy whose parents took the hospital to court to stop them removing his life support).

PattyPan · 16/11/2020 15:22

As you said your other DC have royal type names why not Alfred as the full name with nn Alfie? Alfred the Great then fits the royal theme.
If you do go with Miles, 100% spell it with an i.

notalwaysalondoner · 16/11/2020 14:54

I prefer Miles - Alfie is too nickname-y for me to be a full name. I know the Sussexes did this with Archie but I'm still not a fan.

Myles with a y will be constantly spelling it for others.

LittleBrownBaby · 16/11/2020 14:26

Right Miles / Myles is the winner! Thank you. The kids prefer it too Smile

Miles! Alfie is so overused and dull now

MercyBodle · 16/11/2020 13:06

Myles or Miles (I actually prefer it with the y). I don't see it as an 'out there' name at all, with either spelling.

Sexnotgender · 16/11/2020 12:28

Miles is lovely - I very nearly called my son Giles (family name).

Alfie is so overused and actually not a great name.

RuthW · 16/11/2020 12:25

Myles. Alfie is just awful. Alfred is ok.

cloverbug · 16/11/2020 12:07

Miles

SaffieSoph · 16/11/2020 09:00

Myles. I prefer with the y too!

Firebird83 · 16/11/2020 00:44

I love Miles, with the i spelling.

DramaAlpaca · 15/11/2020 21:38

Miles is nice. It's quite classic in style, actually.

Alfie is twee. Alfred is a fine classic name though.

tmh88 · 15/11/2020 20:41

Both lovely names! I really like miles, however my grandad is called Alfie so that sways things for me to choose Alfie!

BigusBumus · 15/11/2020 20:39

I have an 18 yr old Miles. Much much nicer with an i and not a y.

I also liked Julian at the time I was thinking of names for him.

Brighterthansunflowers · 15/11/2020 20:32

Neither are really my taste but I prefer Alfie

SionnachRua · 15/11/2020 20:13

I'd have said Miles is much more classic than Alfie (so much more in line with your other names). Would choose Miles.

rumandbiscuits · 15/11/2020 20:02

I love Alfie!! I'm pregnant at the moment and would love to call the baby Alfie if it's a boy but my partner isn't convinced.

Kanaloa · 15/11/2020 19:41

Both are nice. Miles Alfie or Alfie Miles sounds nice together as well.

Fleetwoodmacs · 15/11/2020 19:38

Myles. Alfie is really common just now.

june2007 · 15/11/2020 19:37

Not another Alfie. Go for Myles.
