Due dates put me sometime around Christmas, so you'll see a theme below...

We are a bit on the hippyish-side with names, and with our first two children have gone for 'old fashioned main-stream first name followed by slightly 'out there' middle name' and then used the middle name as a family/pet name, and the grown up name for official stuff.

This is my list - my husbands suggestions are more unusual, he is very keen on Allegra/Elektra/Sukie, so do feel free to comment on those too Smile

Star
Lucy
Sophie
Saffron
Jessica
Harriet
Susan
Natalia
Winter

Thoughts? And extra suggestions? X

Love Jessica and Sophie. Popular but not in an overly trendy 1000s everywhere way, when I hear I always think “ah lovely” still have an individual ring to them but I like that both are upbeat, positive while still very feminine names.

Flappingflamingo · 16/11/2020 21:38

Gabrielle /gabriella the femine version of the angel gabriel

Mish85 · 16/11/2020 20:59

Aster would be a nice varient of Star, I love Aster.
Susanna nn Suki I think would be cute.
Tanzanite is one of the gems of December, you could play on this with something like Tamzin/Tamsin.

Flappingflamingo · 16/11/2020 20:28

Any closer to deciding?

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 16/11/2020 19:33

Star - a bit too hippy for my tastes but Ok
Lucy - like
Sophie - lovely
Saffron - pretty. My favourite!
Jessica - Ok but there are SO many out there.
Harriet - don't understand the love for this name. I think it sounds really ugly!
Susan - hate it. Dowdy
Natalia - Ok but prefer Natalie
Winter - not keen

VenusClapTrap · 14/11/2020 10:11

Natalia sounds really fresh. I like Natasha too.

Tweetypietwo · 14/11/2020 09:30

Star - not to my taste
Lucy - like it
Sophie - not keen
Saffron - like it
Jessica - like it
Harriet -like it
Susan - prefer Suzie
Natalia - really lovely!
Winter - not to my taste

Natalia Sukie sounds nice!

Spied · 14/11/2020 08:25

Love Natalia

autumnkate · 14/11/2020 08:15

What about Ember?

autumnkate · 14/11/2020 08:11

Elektra has such a horrible story behind it that it would have to be a no for me.

I like Winter a lot though and Snow for a middle name is gorgeous.

CaffiSaliMali · 13/11/2020 17:36

Star - middle name territory
Lucy - lovely
Sophie - lovely
Saffron - I like it, unusual but not overly so
Jessica - fine
Harriet - fine
Susan - Susanna/h is nicer
Natalia - lovely
Winter - middle name territory

Natalia is gorgeous OP. Natalie is lovely too. It's unusual but not unknown.

Some other names you may like:
Cassia
Sabrina
Serena
Lyra

BlueChampagne · 13/11/2020 12:41

Here's a subtle Christmas one: Clea

As in "It came upon a midnight clear" ...

sundowners · 13/11/2020 10:51

Jessica & Sophie are gorgeous, by far the best from that list IMO.

Sosages · 13/11/2020 07:50

Meant to add I also really like Suki (prefer it without the e), Winter, Star, Saffron and Natalia!

YoungScrappyHungry · 12/11/2020 22:36

@SenCallec my name is Polly. OP please don't name your child Sukie. That bitch, coming over here, ruining my eggs.

Sosages · 12/11/2020 22:27

I have an Electra and I love her name still. She often gets Electron as a pet name at the moment! I knew it was a marmite name when I picked it but have had lovely comments in real life and only one person has ever mentioned the myth (I was never bothered about the association).

GiGi18 · 12/11/2020 22:25

How about Noella?

Ingridla · 12/11/2020 21:40

Star, Winter and Natalia are all beautiful names.

Liliatori · 12/11/2020 20:37

I think if I was to have a Christmas baby I would want to embrace Christmas and give my baby a super Christmassy name 🎅🏽☃️

From your list the Christmassy names I like are Winter & Natalia. I think Winter Allegra would be really sweet.
Other wintry names...
Belle
Noelle
Holly
Ivy
Eve (like Christmas Eve)
Angelica/Angeline/Angelina/Evangeline
Emmanuelle
Gabrielle
Nova

MsTSwift · 12/11/2020 20:17

I like them all except Sophie which is super dull and over used

TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/11/2020 20:13

@Skyla2005 love Saskia

Like others I feel susan is dated but Susanne or Susannah could work well

Krazynights34 · 12/11/2020 20:12

I like Natalia a lot!
I don’t think much of Star or Saffron or Sophie (no real reason).

I had a Christmas baby called Grace (I know it is very popular- it wasn’t so much when I had her)

Other suggestions..(of a winter/celestial/Christmas theme)

Noelle
Natasha
Celeste
Joy
Angelene
Alaska
Celestine

TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/11/2020 20:12

Theres also Talia for Natalia @AuntLucy

Star - nice
Lucy - nice but a little dull
Sophie- nice but super common
Saffron - lovely
Jessica - again quite basic but I know some lovely jessicas
Harriet - always sounds posh to me (not necess a bad thing)
Natalia -i like it, lots of nicknames
Winter - love this

From your husband, I like Suki.

Skyla2005 · 12/11/2020 19:59

Saskia is nice seems to fit your theme

HeadlessGummyBears · 12/11/2020 19:51

I think you should keep Winter as a middle name. I quite like Ivy Winter but I also agree with some of the previous posters and I think Sukie Winter sounds great.

Other “mainstream” names can go quite well with Winter so that can be in keeping with how you went with naming your other kids.
