I love it!! When I was younger I always wanted to call my daughter Anastasia, and I would of in a heart beat. The only thing that held me back was the nick name Annie. I really dont like the name Annie.. I wanted her to be an Anya for a nickname and we even considered just Anya. It's a beautiful name OP.

Ellmau · 11/11/2020 09:40

Beautiful name.

MercyBodle · 11/11/2020 05:44

Beautiful, and not too much at all. Lots of lovely nn options too - I love Anya/Ania, Taisy, Tansy, Ness, Tess.

TravelDreamLife · 11/11/2020 02:56

Well it's the name of our QLD state premier, although she has a very long surname to go with it.

No one comments anything negative it positive. It's fine as long as it suits your surname.

And yes, Anastasia Krupnik! She was such a fun, quirky and unique character. Loved those books growing up.

Kokeshi123 · 11/11/2020 02:44

I like it.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 11/11/2020 01:47

I like it - I find Anastasia glamorous and slightly exotic. I was a bit worried the "50 Shades" thing had spoilt it, but it doesn't seem to have affected the name. I'd use the nickname Anya for it though, rather than dated Stacey (and with a 5 syllable name I think you will have to pick a nickname).

stickygotstuck · 10/11/2020 23:53

Beautiful. Nice meaning too.

Scarby9 · 10/11/2020 23:50

Lovely
And lots of nickname/ shorter name options too.

Firebird83 · 10/11/2020 23:39

Lovely

Zolaanna · 10/11/2020 21:44

Love it!
Btw you don't have to be Catholic, orthodox russian or russian to use a name

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 10/11/2020 21:29

I think it's a great, strong female name with nice abbreviation options. Beats the hell out of simpering cutesy names like Poppy and Belle!

DramaAlpaca · 10/11/2020 21:29

It's a stunning name but much too fussy for me.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 10/11/2020 21:28

I like it.

happytoday73 · 10/11/2020 21:27

I love it

Shadowboy · 10/11/2020 21:26

I love it. Anna is also very classical

GlitterGlueGun · 10/11/2020 21:25

I don't know why I think that about Anastasia. I suppose it's random, I can think of three, two nuns one v religious.

merlotormalbec · 10/11/2020 21:25

I really like it

littlemisslozza · 10/11/2020 21:23

I like it but prefer Anna

Rattanpenis · 10/11/2020 21:18

@GlitterGlueGun Not religious in the slightest thankfully but I'm sure many parents who name their kiddo Matthew or Anna etc aren't religious either..

GlitterGlueGun · 10/11/2020 21:12

Are you a devout Catholic?

LynetteScavo · 10/11/2020 21:04

Was on my list for DD.

Luckily we didn't use it as there were two others in her year at school (although both have now left)! and DD didn't much like either of them.

The one thing that really put me off is that DH suggested people might use Stacey as a nn and I really hate the name Stacey.

CorianderLord · 10/11/2020 20:58

Love*

CorianderLord · 10/11/2020 20:58

Live it, even if you're not Russian (especially considering the name is Greek in origin op)

VioletSunset · 10/11/2020 20:55

Love it
