How many Islas do you know?

Hello! First time pregnancy here and we’ve just found out we’re having a girl 😀 we’re thrilled!

Just wanted thoughts on the name Isla... I’ve loved it for absolutely years but I worry that it’s so popular these days, it seems like it’s always on top 10 lists in the UK (we’re in England).

DH and I don’t actually know many babies as we’re among the first of our friends to get pregnant and we don’t have young relatives so I’m not sure whether a name being on a popular list would actually mean that she’d end up going to school with 3 other Islas in her class. So my question is - how many Islas do you know? Ages & rough locations also really helpful! Thanks in advance 😊

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I know 6 baby Isla’s and then there are a few in DS year at school

Looooooads here. But we are in Scotland so perhaps par for the course

I know of one who is 2. There are none in DS's year of 45 kids or that I've heard of at his school of 300.

5 of varying ages (15-baby).

Two babies under one, London

It's not far off Olivia in terms of popularity.

Lots, both as teacher and parent. From 14 down. North and east London

It’s quite popular but honestly you really cannot predict the names in the class when they get to school. One year they’ll be loads of Isla’s another year there will be none but there will be 2 with the same unusual name.
If you like it go for it

I know of at least 6 in one school!
2 in my dc year (age 9-10, year 5) and 4 others dotted throughout the other year groups (years 2 and 3).
There could be more but I don't know every child in the school. (Approximately 500 kids).
It's a really lovely name and obviously very popular!

South Wales. I think it was really popular here but has potentially gone out of fashion a bit.

I know 3, all between 5-7. I haven’t met any baby Islas. I work with kids so meet a lot.
