Scottish Names?

DH is Scottish and loves the idea of using a Scottish name. Surname is McN....

I like the idea of honouring the heritage, but I can't find many Scottish names I love!

I really like Lochlan for a boy, (but we have a nephew named Lochlan so couldn't use!) and I love Isla for a girl, but hate how popular it's been the past few years.

Can't find any others I like as much, and want to try and like at least some options to discuss with DH!

I'm looking for something recognisable, not too obscure. Strong / masculine for a boy, and... strong / feminine for a girl I guess!

Other names I like (not Scottish!) Are Nina, Owen, Arthur, Emilia... etc.

Please spam me any good ideas!

You could use Nina as a nickname for Catriona. Lewis, Alastair/Alistair/Alasdair or Douglas for boys definitely aren't too out there but are recognisably Scottish for boys.

Nina is Scottish, it’s a derivative of Catriona.
