I loved Lana until someone pointed out what it spells backwards... it was a strong contender until that point

MikeUniformMike · 01/11/2020 20:37

Llyr is a boy's name.

JemimaTiggywinkle · 01/11/2020 20:32

Lyra is my favourite. Lyla/Lilah is also lovely.

Agree with others that Luna is now really overused as a dog name.

Liddell · 01/11/2020 20:30

I like Lara.

Bubbletrouble43 · 01/11/2020 20:29

Lena
Most unusual and just looks nice x

Glitterbubbles · 01/11/2020 20:28

Luna and Lyra

Mrsorganmorgan · 01/11/2020 20:27

Llyr meaning the sea.

Firebird83 · 01/11/2020 20:09

Lena

LondonStone · 01/11/2020 18:05

I like Lara but I might be biased as I’m a Laura. Grin To echo some previous posters, my husband’s family Labrador is Luna and I know another doggy Luna so must be popular for dogs!

missmouse101 · 01/11/2020 17:59

Lara is great. Lyra is like lycra, luna is too similar to loony, the others are meh.

SpeedofaSloth · 01/11/2020 17:52

Lyra. (Phillip Pullman fan.)
I also quite like Lila (as in Robert Persig novel).

Neolara · 01/11/2020 17:50

Lara. Am biased. I have one. I've only met 1 or 2 other Laras. I also really like Lyra.

CosyQueen · 01/11/2020 17:45

Lara is hands down the best - so beautiful!
I do also like Lena.

Ellmau · 01/11/2020 17:35

Lara - but prefer Laura tbh

Crunchymum · 01/11/2020 17:24

Love Lyra

Also quite like Luna and Lara.

NannyR · 01/11/2020 17:22

Lara if I had to choose one, but I'm not keen on any of them. I never know how to pronounce Lena (leena, layna, lenna?)

Penny21xxx · 01/11/2020 17:18

I love Lana but as a nickname for Alana. Which I’m planning to use if baby is a girl.

VenusClapTrap · 01/11/2020 17:18

Lara

Greyhoundgirly · 01/11/2020 16:54

Defo Lyra! Xx

user1493494961 · 01/11/2020 16:49

They all seem to merge into one. There are three off that list in DGD's class, I couldn't tell you who is who.

HogwartsAtChristmas · 01/11/2020 16:48

I like Luna but agree it seems to have definitely become a dog name! Also like Lara.

Dmtush · 01/11/2020 16:47

Lyra, I’m biased though as I have a Lyra.

MikeUniformMike · 01/11/2020 16:47

Lana - nice but there are so many similar names
Lena - ok but is it Leena or Laina?
Lara - nice but there are so many similar names
Luna - too popular, too close to lunatic. Lona is nicer
Lyra - not keen

I think I'd choose Lara or maybe Lana.

DramaAlpaca · 01/11/2020 16:47

I like Lyra, Lara and Lena in that order.

Not the other two.

Seafog · 01/11/2020 16:47

Not Luna, every third dog is called Luna these days
