I like Pearl or Perla. I'm not fond of Joy. Penny or Bonnie are nice too.

CharityPecksniff · 01/11/2020 10:14

Penelope

Greyhoundgirly · 01/11/2020 10:12

I think they're all nice!! Maybe the 2 p names are my fave xx

Sexnotgender · 01/11/2020 08:41

@DramaAlpaca

I don't like Pearl or Bonnie.

I love Penelope and Joy. Penelope Joy would be perfect.

As for your other suggestions, hate Nancy but really like Juliet and Helen.

We have 2 middle names already chosen. MIL died suddenly last year so using her name for a middle name. Tried to avoid using her name as first name as it’s not my favourite!

I love Bonnie and Penelope. Not so keen on Pearl, and dislike Joy.

Joy or Hope would be lovely after this rubbish year!

Ghosts2020 · 01/11/2020 02:52

Penelope if its penny
Pearl
Bonnie
Joy ❌ only one I don't like sorry

TildaTurnip · 01/11/2020 00:47

I like Penelope best. Shortens well to Penny or Nell which I like too.

I dislike Bonnie and Pearl.

cloudylemonade13 · 01/11/2020 00:45

Pearl sounds a bit old fashioned to me but Bonnie is gorgeous, and Penelope is lovely too.

imtired1234 · 01/11/2020 00:44

From the ones you said Penelope is best to me

imtired1234 · 01/11/2020 00:43

Kianna

Oneandabean · 01/11/2020 00:41

We had a similar list, I like bonnie and love Penelope. I had Perla rather than Pearl.

Sexnotgender · 31/10/2020 21:01

Estelle Stella Francesca Magda Fenella?

Only really like Francesca but it’s too close to my sons name.

Happenchance · 31/10/2020 20:49

Although I like the sound of the name Pearl, I don’t like the way that pearls are cultivated, which puts me off that name.

I think Joy and Hope are big names to live up too, especially if your child is introverted or naturally pessimistic.

I prefer Ellen or Helena to Helen (though that might be because I have never met a Helen that I get on with).

How about:
Estelle
Stella
Francesca
Magda
Fenella?

HogwartsAtChristmas · 31/10/2020 20:39

I really like Joy from your list.

willithappen · 31/10/2020 20:29

Bonnie is a lovely name! It would be our first choice for a girl also.

Sexnotgender · 31/10/2020 20:25

@Merename

We’ve got a middle name Nell as couldn’t get DH to agree. I love it, simple but chic and intelligent! Suppose it could be a nn for Penelope too...
I just tabled Nell to DH and he made a face 😏

And thank you, we’re so excited for our girl.

I’ve got an older daughter from my first marriage and a toddler boy with DH.

Ps congratulations on your girl news! Do you have boys or girls already?

SpookyPants · 31/10/2020 20:17

I love Pearl and Joy. Gorgeous names. I think Joy is my favourite by a smudged as it’s...well, so joyous!

Like Penelope and Bonnie. Bonnie maybe a bit cutesy, though. But I can see it’s appeal. I’d just like to have an alternative if I was called Bonnie, something stronger.

Sexnotgender · 31/10/2020 20:11

@Merename

Like them all, prefer penny to Penelope though, also wacky races for me. Love Nancy especially, my friend has a gorgeous wee Nancy. Nina too.

Nell?

Ooh I like Nell.

Penelope would likely be Penny but would use full name on BC.
