Welsh name for a boy?

I'm having a boy in January and live in Wales. I would like to pick a Welsh boys name. I was thinking off Llion. What do you think?

I loved Llinos when I was pregnant with DD but couldn't do it as we live in England. Hardly anyone would be able to say it, even after knowing how to. Which is a great shame as it's the death of the language in action isn't it?

Thinking back. I wonder why I didn't consider it for a middle name. I think it's fine to have a difficult to pronounce middle named as you don't need to hear people mangling it all the time! Would you consider Llion as middle name perhaps?

95% of non-Welsh people struggle with the Welsh 'll', generally pronounced 'kl' which I'm afraid makes it quite close to 'Klingon'.
As a Welsh person with a difficult to pronounce welsh name, I always wanted to give my child a more easily pronounced name but still keeping it Welsh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

I work with a Sîon, he gets called Sian or Sy-on every day and he lives on the border so it's not really unusual to hear Welsh names. I live the name Gruffydd and live in Wales but even I wouldn't do it.

My dad has a Welsh name but has lived in England since leaving university in 1971. It has always been a bit of a hassle - mainly because people seem to instinctively think the name is female rather than male.

My Aunty Llinos gets called Cleanose.

I guess it depends if you’d be bothered by people saying Leon or Lion. My aunt Llinos gets very irate at being called Linos or Leenos.

I am welsh so understand how to pronounce it but I think you run the risk of him being called Lion by non-Welsh speakers.

It's pronounced Llee-onn so very similar sounding to Leon

I really like it but he may spend a lifetime correcting that it’s not Leon.
