We have a DS called Sullivan. We now have another son born yesterday But we can decide on a name. Here is our current short list but would like your opinions:

Monty
Remy
Reuben
Freddie
Bertie
Ralph
Marley

Other suggestions also welcome. 😊

Many thanks in advance

I love Bertie, personally!

MalorieSnooty · 31/10/2020 07:10

I've got a Freddie and Bertie Grin people comment on how much they like their names (Alfred and Albert).

CeeceeBloomingdale · 31/10/2020 07:07

If you shorten Sullivan to Sully I would avoid another name ending in the ee sound. Congratulations on the new arrival

Standrewsschool · 31/10/2020 07:04

Montgomery, nn Monty
Barnaby
Donovan
Nathaniel
Willoughby
Alexander
Jonathan
Barnab

RosieLemonade · 31/10/2020 07:02

Please please please not Monty. What a horrible ugly name.

ThirdTimeLuckyIHope · 30/10/2020 17:53

I love Ralph

pinkpinecone · 30/10/2020 10:19

Ralph, Reuben it Remy

Remy or Bertie imo

I thought Shilton or Lysander when I saw your post but they may not be your cup of tea

Whatsyourflava · 30/10/2020 08:13

@VioletSunset I think that's an anomaly if you look at the statistics
Only around 300 babies called Remi in 2019 (even lower numbers in all of the 10 years prior to 2019)
Nearly 1,500 babies called Reuben in 2019 and 750 babies called Ralph

I think Reuben and Ralph are too popular compared to a name like Sullivan. My favourite is Marley

Magicbabywaves · 30/10/2020 06:35

I would have thought Remi a girl’s name.

Monty.

VioletSunset · 30/10/2020 06:16

Ralph or Ruben

Remi s very popular these days, i know 3 under 5

Wiredforsound · 30/10/2020 06:13

Sully and Gully.

Wiredforsound · 30/10/2020 06:12

Gulliver

AmIReallyThough · 30/10/2020 04:15

I know a young Gallagher which I like and would work well with Sullivan.

Congratulations and let us know what you go for!

remaininshroud · 30/10/2020 03:42

Congratulations, btw!

remaininshroud · 30/10/2020 03:41

A surname name would work well, as PP have said.

Toddlerteaplease · 30/10/2020 03:38

All awful. I used to ride a pony called Monty.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 30/10/2020 03:18

Bertie's lovely and my fave (particularly with Robert on the BC).
Freddie (with Frederick on the BC) is also very nice.
I'm not particularly keen on Reuben but its okay and works well with Sullivan.
Monty and Remy sound a bit too cute/sweet to me.
Dislike Marley (which I associate too much with pets).
Really dislike Ralph (I associate it with the slang for vomiting if said the usual way, although pronounced Rafe isn't quite as bad).

I like other "Surname"- type names best with Sullivan - like Harrison, Maxwell, Jenson/Jensen, Bramwell, Heath, Willoughby, Sampson etc

MissMarplesHandbag · 30/10/2020 02:53

Reuben

jessstan1 · 30/10/2020 02:43

Reuben

Rainbowqueeen · 30/10/2020 02:28

I really like the suggestion of Arlo

Also Darcy or Bailey would go nicely

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 30/10/2020 02:20

Was it only in our area that Remy used to be used as a nasty slur against less academically-able children? Confused

I'd have to discount it instantly on those grounds, but maybe (hopefully) it's passed into obscurity now?

Changethetoner · 29/10/2020 20:45

Bertie, but do use Robert on the BC

Squeakerfoot · 29/10/2020 18:05

Monty and Ralph sound best with Sullivan to me.

Oneandabean · 29/10/2020 16:33

I love Reuben
