Do you know anyone with my potential baby name

Hello,
Esme is the frontrunner for our baby's name.
But I'm a bit confused as to whether it's popular or not. It's currently mid forties on the charts but when I've spoken to people they say that they know of quite a few.
Could be regional thing?

It would be great if you could let me know if you know any (and their ages) and also if you don't know any at all!

Thanks

One who must be in her 80s now in Midlands.

There were four at the toddler group I went to with DD pre-Covid, ranging from brand new baby to about to start school. South West.

I live in east Anglia, there are a lot of Esmes, but it’s a nice name so go for it if you like it.

Georgieporgie29 · 29/10/2020 15:34

I know 3, ages 9, 7 and 6 I’m in the North West.

Mamascoven · 28/10/2020 21:24

3 of my old school friends have named their daughters it. Its really popular where I am.

Quizeerascal · 28/10/2020 21:22

I know of one, she must be in her early 20s now and lives in the South East (or at least thats where her family are based). I met one a few years ago who would be in her mid 40s I think now. I work with children (in London) but haven't met any little Esmes.

jasminetealeaves · 28/10/2020 21:15

I wonder how it's mostly commonly pronounced these days. I know 2 and they both are Es-me

floofycroissant · 28/10/2020 12:45

Yes, 2 in NW

MimiDaisy11 · 28/10/2020 12:28

I'm in Scotland and don't know any. I like the name.

BigBigPumpkin · 28/10/2020 12:25

I know two both under a year old.

2020N · 28/10/2020 12:24

I’m a primary school teacher of 11 years and have only ever come across one Esme if that helps, she would be around 8 now I think x

17caterpillars1mouse · 28/10/2020 08:29

There is only one Esme in my daughters school year (around 60 children). She is 4. I also know a 6/7 year old Esme but that is it. I hear it quite often out and about but not as much as name's like Emily and Tilly / Matilda

It's OK, not a favourite of mine but nice enough

cherryberrylicious · 28/10/2020 08:28

I know one in her 20's! South East

Angelmonkey · 28/10/2020 08:26

I’m in the south east and I know one, she’s 6

MrsBudd · 28/10/2020 08:12

MrsBudd · 28/10/2020 08:12

TabithaMeow · 28/10/2020 08:08

I know (of) 3 - one late twenties, one about 8, one 3. They are in SE England.

MrsSpenserGregson · 28/10/2020 08:00

Beautiful name. I don’t know any. I have 2 DCs in secondary school, and I work in a different secondary school and I’ve never come across one. South Coast.

Turtleturtle81 · 28/10/2020 07:57

I know about 3. The oldest is about 8 years old.

AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 28/10/2020 07:53

It's 43rd most used baby name for girls in 2020

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/most-popular-baby-names-2020-18829877.amp

So it's popular but there won't be one in every class.

JemimaTiggywinkle · 28/10/2020 07:49

Don’t know if anyone has suggested this already but on the ONS baby names page you can search by mother’s usual area of residence - tells you how many were registered in your local authority.

SocialBees · 28/10/2020 07:46

I know two, both secondary school age.

jessicagrace1972 · 28/10/2020 07:45

I know one, aged 4, South London.

wowfudge · 28/10/2020 07:45

I once worked with an Esme. We were in the NW, she was from the SE originally. Her dad was an immigrant to the UK. I love the name.

SendHelp30 · 28/10/2020 07:41

Were in South Yorkshire. I know 2 under 3s called Esme and there’s 3 in DDs primary school and 1 at her riding school. So 6

OwlOne · 28/10/2020 07:39

I know it's popular for kids but I know one my own age. (50 ish)
