Thoughts on Eloise Jean

Hi all,
So me and my partner are trying to think of a name for a baby girl and I really like the name Eloise (we were originally set on Olivia which I also love but the popularity puts me off a bit) and as a middle name, we were thinking Jean as this is my partner's nans name. What do you all think of Eloise Jean? Honest thoughts please, we won't be offended.

I find Eloise a bit clunky and a bit like "ehhh, Louise" which puts me off.

I love Jean, and I love Jean Louise aka Scout Finch.

I did also laugh at Eloise Jean being the female version of Elton John!

MikeUniformMike · 29/10/2020 12:07

@joystir59, it is Eloise not Elouise. It has nothing to do with the name Louise.

joystir59 · 28/10/2020 13:12

Elouise Jean sounds too 'eeee' when you say it. Elouise is nice but to me Jean is very old fashioned and full.

LunaNorth · 28/10/2020 13:08

One of the nicest I’ve seen on here. Jean is such a cool name.

Norma Jean
Jean Louise Finch
Jean Seberg
Jean Harlow

Eloise is a bit too frilly for me and is yet another El- name. I prefer Louise.
Jean is nice.

MimiDaisy11 · 28/10/2020 11:59

I like it. Jean flows well as a middle name.

Changethetoner · 28/10/2020 11:45

Yes, it's lovely, Eloise Jane is prettier. Lots of times Jane/Jean is interchanged.

Pemba · 28/10/2020 11:25

Eloise is lovely and Jean is retro cool. The combination flows well, and is a bit unusual. Nice choice!

wizzler · 28/10/2020 09:30

Love it

Katgolde · 28/10/2020 09:27

Eloise is quite nice although I prefer other similar names such as Elsie or Louisa. Not keen on Jean so personally would use another related name from the female versions of John, such as Joanna or Jeanette.

Rainbowqueeen · 28/10/2020 09:26

Really pretty. Flows nicely, easy to spell, not overly popular and suits all ages.

dolphinpose · 28/10/2020 09:24

I love Jeanne said in a French accent even more, but you'd have to have a French connection to get away with it.

RAOK · 28/10/2020 00:04

I love it!

Firebird83 · 27/10/2020 23:44

Funny that some people think Jean is cool and others think it’s frumpy Grin

Kanaloa · 27/10/2020 22:44

I think Eloise Jean is lovely. It feels quite classic but not too dated/frumpy. Eloise is a pretty name I think.

dolphinpose · 27/10/2020 22:25

I think it's great. Eloise is really stylish and pretty and Jean is so cool. I love Jeannie as a nickname. So cute.

Barryisland · 27/10/2020 22:07

Jean is a terrible name for a baby in the 21st century. It’s ugly.

dogrilla · 27/10/2020 22:05

It sounds like the lady version of Elton John

Firebird83 · 27/10/2020 19:46

Eloisa Jean sounds better

Quercus3 · 27/10/2020 18:43

Lovely name

Enko · 27/10/2020 16:13

I like it Also like Eloisa I think Jean goes nicely as a middlename.

missmouse101 · 27/10/2020 01:45

Eloise is lovely but Jean is so frumpy. I can't bear it, sorry.

TabithaMeow · 27/10/2020 01:43

I love it. Eloise is sweet and Jean is cool and vintage, I think they go well together Smile

Ellmau · 27/10/2020 00:06

Very nice.

AlexaShutUp · 27/10/2020 00:02

I wouldn't use Jean myself, but I actually rather like it, and it would be a nice tribute to your partner's nan. I'm afraid I really dislike Eloise.
