Andrew is so adorable too! And Drewbear ❤️ for me, it's so underused now but I still think it fits in with the 2020 names really well. Certainly with Drew. I appreciate the help, thank you x

I like it a lot. My son is Andrew and his name hasn't been shortened yet (he's 3 so it might not) but if it does it will definitely be Drew rather than Andy which I hate. He can choose that if he wants when he's older but I wont be calling him it! I sometimes call him Drewbear! FWIW I think it works perfectly fine as a standalone name.

That's lovely. I like it too. For me, I think it's unusual nowadays but still fits in with the Finns, Coles, Jacks etc...

I love it and it was on our shortlist both times but we’ve got girls. I think of it as a boys name. I know Drew Barrymore but it sounds masculine to me.

I really like Andrew nn Drew too.

I have a lovely friend called Drew, so I think it’s a great name. I think I’d put Andrew on the birth certificate though because to me it’s very much a nickname rather than a standalone name.

I dated a Drew over thirty years ago, it’s a very underrated and underused name.

Love it too. Went to school with a Drew, he was lovely and so by association, I would recommend you use it.

As others have posted though, don't let others put you off if you love it. I wouldn't be surprised to meet a male Drew, or think there was anything wrong or to judge about the name.

For me the Drew that first comes to mind is actress Barrymore, so it feels a bit feminine to me. While I like it as a nickname for Andrew (much more than Andy), because it's so unisex now I'm not personally keen on it as a given name, sorry.

@MikeUniformMike I actually really like it for a girl actually but it would be for our DS. I think I people would associate it with her but that's not a bad thing!

Don't let a load of randoms on the internet put you off though, it's a perfectly normal and inoffensive name that would not be a hindrance into adulthood like many.

It's my daughters middle name. She likes it. I think it's quite cool without trying too hard.
