Francesca?

What do people think? 32 weeks pregnant with DD. Middle name would be Elizabeth so Francesca Elizabeth? Really struggling with girls names that DH and I agree on. Our favourite we cant have because of our surname.

Elizabeth Frances? I can tell you from experience it's a great name.

FippertyGibbett · 25/10/2020 08:21

I don’t see the problem with Robyn Robinson if you like it.

MikeUniformMike · 25/10/2020 08:17

Just use Robin, if you love it.

MikeUniformMike · 25/10/2020 08:10

Robyn Robinson is fine, but Robin Roberts or Robbins not so good

Benjispruce2 · 25/10/2020 07:49

So long as surname not Robinson, I think it’s fine. Robin is the male version though, it’s Robyn usually for a girl.

MikeUniformMike · 25/10/2020 07:37

Thanks. I thought the surname might be White and that you liked Isla.
Robin is a boy's name - I'd spell it Robyn, and it depends on the surname.
Robyn Rowlands or Robyn Rossiter is ok

Benjispruce2 · 25/10/2020 07:32

DD middle name. We were worried about Fran/Frannie as nn so swerved it as a first name.

FippertyGibbett · 25/10/2020 07:29

Francine.

Cobumbo · 25/10/2020 07:27

@MikeUniformMike

Our favourite we cant have because of our surname. What is your favourite and why can't you use it?
Our favourite was Robin but it's a real sod with our surname (starts with Ro...)

We were thinking of having Frances Elizabeth as middle names as they have a significance in our families which we would like to include ideally, but we don't really like either enough as a first name. That's why I thought i was on to a real winner with Francesca. But no, bloody DH

I like Jospehine.

What about Frances Elizabeth if Francesca is out?

I really don't like Francesca. The simpler version Frances is beautiful, classic and classy, I don't see Francesca in the same way at all.

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 25/10/2020 01:56

My dd is Francesca Elizabeth so I obviously agree with you 😉.

MercyBodle · 25/10/2020 01:34

What a pity! I love Francesca.

TenShortStories · 25/10/2020 00:15

Ah, that's a shame. Other strong classic names:

Josephine
Felicity
Catherine
Miriam

Cobumbo · 24/10/2020 18:12

Thanks for all your replies. I really like it too but DH has just ruled it out due to a past dealing with a Francesca. Bugger, I thought I was on to a winner there. Back to the drawing board, sigh.

Lovely.

pilates · 24/10/2020 17:52

Very nice

Mrsfussypants1 · 24/10/2020 17:34

Our 4 year old grandaughter is Francesca, after Uncle Francesco (though she's called herself Cesca since she could talk) I was expecting a really out there name like Dove or River so I instantly loved it.

Abracadabra12345 · 24/10/2020 17:13

Love it. I remember meeting a Francesca as a child and always being envious of her name.

MillieEpple · 24/10/2020 17:03

Its loveley. Fran, frankie, cesca, chessie. all good.

dolphinpose · 24/10/2020 17:00

It's lovely. Frankie or Cesca or Chessie are all nice nicknames.

Rafflesway · 24/10/2020 16:56

Love Francesca and Frankie as a nn.

With Elizabeth as mn - really classy!

Ikeameatballs · 24/10/2020 16:54

I really like it.
