We're wanting a short name because DD's both have quite short names. What do you think of this list?

Indie
Faye
Ada
Violet
Maeve
Pearl
Jade
Olive

Violet and Maeve are my favourites

wishing3 · 23/10/2020 09:30

Not mad on Indie (though don’t actively dislike) but love all of the others.

HalfBloodPrincess · 23/10/2020 09:29

Pearl is my favourite from your list. Love Opal too.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 23/10/2020 09:27

Violet and Maeve are both great.

Olive is dreadful, I cannot understand it having a comeback!

Katgolde · 23/10/2020 09:25

I like Violet, Maeve, Pearl and Jade.

Salamander91 · 23/10/2020 09:22

Ada and Maeve are my favourites.

Ruthietuthie · 23/10/2020 02:50

I really don't like Faye (because it sounds like fey, which has unpleasant meanings). I LOVE Pearl and also like Maeve. What about Willa?

alexdgr8 · 23/10/2020 02:21

Pearl or Violet.

indie sounds like a motor race. jade is goody. fay sounds like an adjective to be avoided. olive from on the buses. ada sounds really common, i mean below stairs, a scullery maid. maeve is to mavis as call me dave is to david.

Notajogger · 23/10/2020 02:13

Ada

Squeakerfoot · 23/10/2020 02:01

I've never met an Ada and it feels like a strong and elegant name to me, so if it were my choice I would pick that.

It also makes me think of Ada Lovelace.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 23/10/2020 01:19

Love Maeve, and like Ada and Faye (although Ada is shooting up in popularity at the moment if that bothers you?).

Indie and Jade feel a bit trendy/less classic to me (although I love India) and Olive, Pearl and Violet feel the opposite - too old-fashioned for me.

octoberfarm · 23/10/2020 01:08

Ada, but also like Indie and Olive a lot.

AlwaysLatte · 23/10/2020 00:42

In order I like Indie, Ada, Jade, Maeve, Olive, Faye, Pearl, Violet ( looks too much like Violent).
