Hi there

We are both in love with the name Heidi. Just wondering what people's opinions are on it? Trying to think long term for our daughter!

Lovely. Refreshing amongst all the Amelias Olivias and Eves

Monkeytapper · 17/10/2020 06:24

It is! @LadyWithLapdog

LadyWithLapdog · 17/10/2020 01:01

@Monkeytapper mine is also a Heidi Elizabeth. It’s a good name combination, isn’t it?

ILoveFlumps · 15/10/2020 06:58

I know a Heidi. Professional job, well known in her industry, and loves her name. Go for it!

Maybe! Though I thought she was older than 40!

If it is the same person, her dislike of the name relates in part to where she grew up...

missmouse101 · 15/10/2020 06:47

I like it, a good choice!

cliffdiver · 15/10/2020 06:29

I really like it.

@Soupcon I wonder if we know the same person!

Onceuponatimethen · 15/10/2020 06:28

I know a 40 year old Heidi who doesn’t like it as an adult.

AlwaysLatte · 15/10/2020 06:25

I don't like it, although it's skewed for me as I looked like the TV Heidi when I was a kid, so loads of people called me that!

TillyTheTiger · 15/10/2020 06:16

DD was almost Heidi, I love it!

Monkeytapper · 15/10/2020 06:12

I have a ‘Heidi Elizabeth’.........love the name and she is the only Heidi in her primary school at the moment

Soupcon · 15/10/2020 06:10

I don’t like it — too cutesy — and my fortysomething friend called Heidi loathes her name.

MimiDaisy11 · 15/10/2020 06:08

I do like it and think it would work as it's somewhat of an established name in English speaking countries. For me, it sounds too Germanic and I see that Heidi is a shortened form of some longer German names, that would put me off, but go for it if it works for you.

MercyBodle · 15/10/2020 01:36

I dislike it. One of those names that I don't get the appeal of. If it was my name I'd have to change it to be taken seriously. But you're not naming me. If it's a name that you would be happy to have yourself then it's not an issue, and it does seem to be generally liked.

Catwoman1985 · 14/10/2020 22:59

I like it

EggyPegg · 14/10/2020 22:57

I know both adult and child Heidi's. I think it's gorgeous.

nitsandwormsdodger · 14/10/2020 22:56

Lovely name. Good choicr

Tillygetsit · 14/10/2020 22:26

I'm sorry but I don't get the love for this name. I think it sounds too young for a adult.

Phoenix76 · 14/10/2020 21:57

Also love it op, my best childhood friend was called Heidi and she was great!

Disa13 · 14/10/2020 21:38

My closest friend is called Heidi and it is also my all time favourite name!

ellenpartridge · 14/10/2020 21:36

I like it. My daughter is friends with a Heidi who is a very sweet girl and it's really grown on me!

formerbabe · 14/10/2020 21:32
