regret my baby girl‘s name

Everyone, pls help me choose a name. I named my baby girl “Ariadne “ cuz it is less popular , however, it is hard for people to pronounce it right. I have been thinking to change her name( she is 9 months old) . Any ideas, please? I like Clare , Clara .....

It's not hard to pronounce assuming you haven't attributed an "odd" pronunciation to it? At 9 months it's waaaaay to late to be changing it now

Ariadne is a beautiful name. I wouldn't change it!
Certainly not for people that can't pronounce it. Tbh you could change it to something boring and popular and people would still get it wrong.

I don't think it's hard to pronounce at all. When you've chosen an unusual name you just have to be firm and correct peoples pronunciation, it's feels weird to start with but you will get used to it so just be confident about her name. Lots of people have unusual names these days and Ariadne is lovely. Clara is nice but a bit boring in comparison and Clare is both boring and dated.

Aria (Arr-EE-A) is a lovely shortening too.

Ariadne is lovely, Clare is a very dull name in comparison. At 9 months she’ll respond to her name, I think it’s odd if you suddenly start calling her Clare

Oh I absolutely love it. Don’t change it because of other people being unable to spell it! My DDs both have less common names and I often have to spell them out. I chose uncommon names because I have a really common one and am sick of always having to add an initial to identify myself. Seemed like a fair trade off!

Can you use a nickname - something like Aria? Rather than going through the faff of chancing it.

You liked the name so why not leave it but call her Aria for short.

What a lovely name! Such a pity that this is causing problems for you. There is a good argument that people just have to learn to pronounce it (not hard really) and you just not worry about it. I have a very common name pronounced in the usual way and people regularly mispronounce it, so it can be hard to avoid!

On the other hand clearly this is a problem for you. If you decide to change maybe keep Ariadne in the middle? Clare is straightforward to pronounce but you will have to spell it out all the time (Clare/Claire). Clara has 2 different pronunciations that I know of. Both lovely names though.

I adore Ariadne.
I wouldn't change it, surely people who know you will by now know how to pronounce and spell her name. However choosing a name because 'It is less killer's sounds silly. Choose a name because you like it and make sure it's not ridiculous and will cause your child embarrassment.
People will struggle with Clare as there are so many different spellings, so I don't think that would be a good choice either.

Do you like her name? It's not that hard to pronounce really. And surely once you've corrected people once or twice, they get it. My children have names that can seem difficult to pronounce based on spelling (Irish names) but once we say it, there's no issue.
