Kitson, Baxter, Abel or Denny?

I love Abel and Denny, DH loves Kitson and Baxter. Kitson is growing on me. I also liked the name Henry but SIL just had a boy and named him Henry so now I'm stuck. What are your opinions on Kitson, Baxter, Abel or Denny?

None of the suggestions are a patch on your other childrens' names, which are interesting, but also classic.

Kit is great - how about short for Kester? That's a wonderful old name. Goes fabulously with your other boys.

Max is good - bit popular.

Have to say I really dislike Mason - it's a real thuggish kind of name. Miles?

@finallychangedmyusername
Thank you for the suggestions I really appreciate it. I quite like Max and we've mentioned it a few times but I don't know whether that's the one.

@MajesticWhine
my other sons names are Ezra, Freddie and Silas. My daughters are Phoebe, Audrey and Rowan.

@TerribleCustomerCervix
I'm not sure if I truly love any of them. I like quite a few names but I haven't been able to find a name that me and DH both like. We've picked out a girls name fine but I'm feeling a bit stuck with boys names.

@FizzingWhizzbee123
Thank you for the suggestions, I really like Mason!

I actually know a Kitson and a Denny. I don't really like Kitson as a name, it gets shortened to Kit so I think Christopher would have been better. Denny is the coolest kid in the class and his name is perfect for him.

joystir59 · 05/10/2020 05:20

All four of your suggested names grate on me OP.

SBTLove · 05/10/2020 04:50

@LadyIronDragon
Just saw your comment, I doubt anyone in Scotland will be using Denny 🤣🤣 what next? Carstairs? Wishaw?

SBTLove · 05/10/2020 04:46

You do know Denny is a small town outside of Falkirk?odd choice of name 🤣

beepbeepsheep · 05/10/2020 04:38

Denny just sounds like you're saying Danny in an unusual accent. Also the name of a not very nice area in central Scotland if that bothers you.

rainbowninja · 05/10/2020 04:13

I prefer Denny and Kitson to Abel and Baxter. Have you considered Teddy?

Toddlerteaplease · 05/10/2020 04:06

Septemus if he's the 7th.

Toddlerteaplease · 05/10/2020 04:05

All of them awful.

Kanaloa · 05/10/2020 03:01

Denny/Dennis is ok. I’m not keen on Abel and I really dislike Kitson & Baxter. They sound like cat food brands to me or some kind of product rather than a person’s name. Maybe Hudson, Dexter or Maxwell would work? They all have a cool feeling but they’re more like names.

ErrolTheDragon · 05/10/2020 00:17

Denny - it's a USA diner

Denny's. Iirc they used to do a lot of 'over 60s' specials, featuring mash and other food that didn't need chewing much. Considerate.Grin

bitheby · 05/10/2020 00:12

Denny was a character in Grey's Anatomy. He died.

Twillow · 05/10/2020 00:09

I like Denny. Not so much the rest.

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 05/10/2020 00:01

I normally don't comment in these threads - but just please don't. Even if you've already got six kids with several middle names there are better options out there for your human child than these.
Viz comic has a character called Baxter Basics.

SageRosemary · 04/10/2020 23:48

The only Denny (pronounced more like Dinny) I know was Denis originally.

No to Kitson

If you like Abel you might like some other biblical name - Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Jeremiah, Jonas,

BloggersBlog · 04/10/2020 23:47

Abel, at a pinch

IslandLulu · 04/10/2020 23:42

Kitson - ridiculous name
Baxter - canned soup
Abel - what if he's not able & has SEN?
Denny - it's a USA diner

Back to the name book please, OP.

MercyBodle · 04/10/2020 23:40

I like Kitson best. Kit is very cool as a short form.

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 04/10/2020 23:31

Abel is nice.

Denny is a cute nickname for Dennis. Or in fact, Aiden. Sounds a lot like Abel and Denny works Great as a nickname.

Miriel · 04/10/2020 23:25

Abel is the nicest on the list. I quite like Denny as a nickname for Dennis, but not on its own. Really dislike your DH's choices, sorry!

'Baxter' is a surname and means 'female baker' so I'm bothered by it in the same way I am by girls being given names ending with -son.

Tillygetsit · 04/10/2020 23:13

I like Denny. Reminds me of musician Denny Lane. I think he was originally Dennis.

Cannottakeanymore · 04/10/2020 23:11

None of them.

riotlady · 04/10/2020 23:04

None of them, sorry
