Kitson, Baxter, Abel or Denny?

I love Abel and Denny, DH loves Kitson and Baxter. Kitson is growing on me. I also liked the name Henry but SIL just had a boy and named him Henry so now I'm stuck. What are your opinions on Kitson, Baxter, Abel or Denny?

None of the suggestions are a patch on your other childrens' names, which are interesting, but also classic.

Kit is great - how about short for Kester? That's a wonderful old name. Goes fabulously with your other boys.

Max is good - bit popular.

Have to say I really dislike Mason - it's a real thuggish kind of name. Miles?

Thank you for the suggestions I really appreciate it. I quite like Max and we've mentioned it a few times but I don't know whether that's the one.

my other sons names are Ezra, Freddie and Silas. My daughters are Phoebe, Audrey and Rowan.

I'm not sure if I truly love any of them. I like quite a few names but I haven't been able to find a name that me and DH both like. We've picked out a girls name fine but I'm feeling a bit stuck with boys names.

I actually know a Kitson and a Denny. I don't really like Kitson as a name, it gets shortened to Kit so I think Christopher would have been better. Denny is the coolest kid in the class and his name is perfect for him.

Denny just sounds like you're saying Danny in an unusual accent. Also the name of a not very nice area in central Scotland if that bothers you.

Denny/Dennis is ok. I’m not keen on Abel and I really dislike Kitson & Baxter. They sound like cat food brands to me or some kind of product rather than a person’s name. Maybe Hudson, Dexter or Maxwell would work? They all have a cool feeling but they’re more like names.

Denny - it's a USA diner

Denny's. Iirc they used to do a lot of 'over 60s' specials, featuring mash and other food that didn't need chewing much. Considerate.Grin

I normally don't comment in these threads - but just please don't. Even if you've already got six kids with several middle names there are better options out there for your human child than these.

The only Denny (pronounced more like Dinny) I know was Denis originally.

If you like Abel you might like some other biblical name - Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Jeremiah, Jonas,

Denny is a cute nickname for Dennis. Or in fact, Aiden. Sounds a lot like Abel and Denny works Great as a nickname.

Abel is the nicest on the list. I quite like Denny as a nickname for Dennis, but not on its own. Really dislike your DH's choices, sorry!

'Baxter' is a surname and means 'female baker' so I'm bothered by it in the same way I am by girls being given names ending with -son.

I like Denny. Reminds me of musician Denny Lane. I think he was originally Dennis.
