I like Wilfred for a child - and it has good nicknames for an adult - Fred if Wilf is too twee.

I don't like Conrad - it sounds hard to my ears and the nicknames / shortenings are horrid. Con?

Wilfred is an old man with a flat cap name. Conrad if it has to br one of the other.
I can’t understand this fashion for ugly old man type names.

I love Wilfred. Conrad is a cool name, but I can't quite get past the 'con' bit reminding me of prisoners and con-artists.

I really like Conrad and had it on the list for a DS. Wilfred is ok too but it is the PM's baby name

Mind you David Tennant has a son called Wilfred but all his children have awful names

I really don’t like Conrad, it sounds harsh and like an inflexible person. Wilfred is a lovely name, I much prefer it.

Another Conrad here - Wilfred just doesn't sound right to me for some reason. However both names seem to have very old Saxon or Germanic origins.
