Wilfred I think. Can be Wilf, Will or Fred.
Both ok though.

SourcePlease · 10/10/2020 18:25

Why would you do that to a child?

Lol. What a dick!

Neither name is particularly out there or anything!

I much prefer Conrad. Really cool name.

emilybrontescorsett · 07/10/2020 22:49

Conrad. I don't like Wilfred, the nd me of an old grandad eating Worther's Originals.

SwedishEdith · 07/10/2020 22:30

Conrad sounds really cool but potentially bratty. Wilfred is a dreadfully weak sounding name. It's the Wilf bit - all wilty. What about Wolfgang? Or Amadeus? I would have loved to have ever had a chance to use Amadeus as a middle name.

CormoranStrike · 07/10/2020 19:25

Conrad is nice

ifiwasascent · 07/10/2020 17:48

I love Wilfred with the nn Wilf!

Ellmau · 06/10/2020 18:43

Conrad is great!

Enko · 06/10/2020 08:13

forgot to say Conrad is known as Conrad or an abriviation of his surname noone has ever shortened his name bar his dad and I who when he was younger used Radskiroo that got shortened to Roo and he is still at times called Roo but only by his sisters or parents

Enko · 06/10/2020 08:09

Conrad and ds is Conrad so I really like it Grin

He is 18 now. It is a real marmite name (as this thread shows) however we have met 1 other a dad at his primary school who on meeting him commented that af age46 this was the first time he had met a Conrad

People know the name and they often comment its a strong solid name and how much ds suits his name.

However when we announced his name we had quite a few "oh" and my mother (never one to be subtle) announced thats a HORRIBLE name. FFW 11 years she came to stay and told me. "I always liked the name Conrad its such a good strong name" she had connected it to her grandson who she loved so got used to it.

Friends have a Willfred he is known as Wilf he is a lovely lad but Its not one of my preferred names

garlictwist · 06/10/2020 07:25

They are both abysmal.

greenteafiend · 06/10/2020 06:50

Conrad. Wilfred is awful.

Angelina82 · 06/10/2020 04:41

Neither.

Ghosts2020 · 06/10/2020 04:01

Snow234 · 05/10/2020 13:01

Conrad reminds me of that tv series that used to be on footballers wives

SBTLove · 05/10/2020 11:34

Neither

PlantPotting · 05/10/2020 11:33

@Minibea Wilfred is so lovely! Such a classic with so much history and depth. Jealous you're going to get to potentially use it.
There are strong reactions to every name on here. You won't find any name is universally liked so don't let us put you off names you like.
I personally hate the sound of Conrad and the Con bit at the start is awful.

Angel2702 · 05/10/2020 11:16

I love Wilfred. Not so keen on Conrad.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 05/10/2020 11:08

Wilfred. Like the mouse in Brambly Hedge.

WokThisWay · 05/10/2020 10:59

Conrad. IMO Wilfred is in the same camp as Rupert and Francis.

lottiegarbanzo · 05/10/2020 10:42

They are very different names. Conrad is grown-up and cool, Wilfred is cute and nostalgic.

ShrimpSymphony · 05/10/2020 10:41

Conrad. Wilfred is really awful

Minibea · 05/10/2020 10:39

Watching with interest as Wilfred is on my list for DS due next year. I’m surprised at the level of objection to it from PP Blush. I’m not keen on Conrad tbh, I think it’s quite a different style to Wilfred. Let us know what you decide!

perfumeistooexpensive · 05/10/2020 10:36

Wilfred because you have the choice of Wilf, Fred, Freddie, Will for shortened names.

Conrad: Con, Connie or Rad. Not pleasant.

BestIsWest · 05/10/2020 10:29

Conrad is horrible.

micc · 05/10/2020 10:26

I prefer Conrad :)
I think Wilfred sounds a bit meek, but its sweet sounding.
