After many late night discussions, shortlist for our baby girl due early 2021 :)

Which name do you prefer and why?

Thank you!! Flowers

Both lovely
If you want a shortening then Fliss works.

PlantPotting · 07/10/2020 10:58

Jemima Felicity and Margot are 3 of my favourite names @Lucilia
Juliet is nice but I wouldn't use personally because of Jules

EasyCheesyToast · 06/10/2020 23:47

Juliet is pretty. Felicity is old but probably unique by now. In fact we shortlisted Felicity for DD.

Soulstirring · 06/10/2020 19:14

Love Juliet

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 06/10/2020 19:11

Juliet

Runmybathforme · 06/10/2020 19:10

Love Felicity, unfortunately, they will both be shortened. Not so keen on Flick or Fliss.

MojoJojo71 · 06/10/2020 19:08

Both beautiful names but I prefer Felicity, I love the meaning and it has better options for nicknames. My favourite is Lissy.

Lucilia · 06/10/2020 19:06

How nice @Parkandride! I considered Alice, Autumn (vetoed!), Jemima And Margot.

Felicity

Parkandride · 05/10/2020 11:11

Love both and they're on my list, what else did you consider as I might like to steal some inspiration!?

I think on how the names sound alone Juliet edges in front for me

MercyBodle · 05/10/2020 02:03

I love both. Assuming both sound equally good with the surname I'd edge towards Juliet, for its simplicity. I do just generally love names with 't' endings!

FizzyGreenWater · 04/10/2020 15:59

Actually I think it's because Juliet spelled like that is only a whisker away from Julia/Julie, which seems so dated.

FizzyGreenWater · 04/10/2020 15:59

Juliet.

Felicity is very head girl prissy sounding. Fliss even worse!

I like Juliette even more, should be frillier but somehow it just looks great.

Ellmau · 04/10/2020 15:42

Both lovely, I would slightly prefer Juliet.

SE13Mummy · 04/10/2020 13:30

Felicity for me. Love the meaning and that there are lots of nickname possibilities.

SequinSmile · 04/10/2020 12:32

I like them both to be honest. I wouldn't like Juliet to be shortened to Jules personally, so for that reason I'll vote for Felicity.

bridgetreilly · 04/10/2020 12:30

I really like both, with a very slight preference for Felicity.

Peccary · 04/10/2020 07:46

I call my Juliet J for short but mainly use her full name. future nicknames are her business

I do like Felicity though, lovely meaning

DumpsterBagel · 03/10/2020 23:27

Juliet is lovely, and would be unusual where I live.

Angel2702 · 03/10/2020 23:05

I like both but Felicity has risen in popularity recently so I’d probably go with Juliet. I’ve not met any Juliets younger than me.

ifiwasascent · 03/10/2020 21:57

Felicity!

Auto · 03/10/2020 21:46

I like both but really dislike Fliss and Flick as nicknames, so for that reason prefer Juliet.

AegonT · 03/10/2020 20:34

They are both great names but I personally just love the sound of Juliet.

CatteStreet · 03/10/2020 18:00

Felicity is lovely, and a wonderful meaning. Not keen on Juliet at all - the name itself is OK, but she's the heroine of an absolutely tragic story. Not a nice association IMO.

CakeIsMyFavouriteAndBest · 03/10/2020 17:56

I have a Juliette who unlike previous replies does not get shortened to Jools ever (and as she's 10 there's been plenty of time for it to have happened) and also no-one has any problem pronouncing it or spelling it.
Love it as its not too popular so not many around but its a name everyone knows.
