Surname names!

Anyone else a big fan of names which could also be a surname?

For example- for a girl we like Darcy, and for a boy we have Cole on the list. We're due a surprise baby in December but can't decide on a boys name!

So hit me with your best boys 'surname names'! 😄
(Nothing too popular please) xx

One not mentioned above. My cousins called her little boy Reid.

I’ve been thinking about Blair or Blaine for boys names but are also surnames.

I have a Carter and a Sullivan and my imaginary 3rd son is Griffin.

I loved Lincoln but didn't want to be accused of naming my kids after US presidents.

I just tried to search for the name popularity database to see how popular some surnames are as fns but couldn't find it..... I'm sure it was called dark greener or something, has it disappeared or have I got the name wrong anyone?

I have an occupational surname which is a fairly popular boys’ name (and features in a pp above!) which might prejudice me but I don’t like occupational surnames or ‘son’ names as first names. I do think some are better than others though - I’m not a fan of Cole (I just think coal = bad) but Douglas, Owen, Simon and Fraser from those listed above are lovely. I also like Gregory and Murray. I think you have to be careful with names that sound too much like surnames otherwise the full name sounds like a law firm Grin

RoseMartha · 01/10/2020 14:51

Fletcher
Cooper
