Our top three girls names are Cassia, Marnie, and Aria. Which would you pick?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
itsjakeandamy · 28/09/2020 22:44

Sorry autocorrect.
Casha

itsjakeandamy · 28/09/2020 22:44

Cassia - as long as it's pronounced Cass-ee-a not Cash's.
Then Aria.
I really dislike Marnie.

SeanCailleach · 28/09/2020 22:35

Cassia is the spice often sold as cinnamon.
Very nice name, a classic.

Aria is musical and a lovely sound.

ReeseWitherfork · 28/09/2020 22:24

it sounds almost exactly like how Arya is pronounced most of the time in GOT
I agree - it’s pretty much only Maisie Williams who seems to consistently call her character “Arya” as opposed to “Aria”.

Marlena1 · 28/09/2020 22:23

Cassia. Also love Cassie. Gorgeous.

Sunshine1235 · 28/09/2020 22:21

@daisypond I took your advice and looked it up on google (was just giving my honest reaction to the name not saying it wasn’t possible to find out how it’s pronounced) and I would say it sounds almost exactly like how Arya is pronounced most of the time in GOT.

Tillygetsit · 28/09/2020 22:16

Cassia but I'm biased Wink

daisypond · 28/09/2020 22:06

Aria is not the same as GOT’s Arya. Aria is a normal word in the dictionary, so its pronunciation is straightforward and easy to look up.

ReeseWitherfork · 28/09/2020 22:04

GOTs Aria changes pronunciation in every scene!

Ar-ya v Ar-e-a

Squeakerfoot · 28/09/2020 22:03

Cassia

Sunshine1235 · 28/09/2020 22:01

I like Cassia, not sure how to pronounce Aria (same as GOT’s Arya or like Area?). I have no idea why Marnie is so popular at the moment, it sounds like sarnie or mardy. It’s not pretty at all sorry.

louderthan1 · 28/09/2020 21:58

I like Marnie but it does remind me of one of the Geordie Shore creatures. I don't like either of the others.

Do you actually like them OP or are you just trying really hard to be different?
If the latter you'd be much better off with something old fashioned and unusual like Celeste, Claudine, Anastasia, Harriet etc. Or my favourite name ever...Ida.

mumtobabygilrl · 28/09/2020 21:58

Aria

mumtobabygilrl · 28/09/2020 21:58

Not e are hundreds at the moment

HomesUnderTheSpanner · 28/09/2020 21:52
  1. Aria
  2. Cassia
  3. Marnie, but really not a fan
mathanxiety · 28/09/2020 21:44

Cassia, by a country mile.

Aria isn't a name a girl could carry through life.
Marnie is simply dreadful.

daisypond · 28/09/2020 21:40

Cassia is nice.
Aria is a bit bland now, though would have been more interesting a while back.
Marnie is Hitchcock to me too, and it puts me off. Doesn’t feel like a “real“ name.

Kanaloa · 28/09/2020 21:22

I would choose Cassia. Lovely name.

Garcellesaidwhaaat · 28/09/2020 21:11

Cassia.
Marnie reminds me of sarnie.
Aria too vowely. Prefer Mariah.

Toilenstripes · 28/09/2020 21:07

Cassia

DramaAlpaca · 28/09/2020 21:06

Marnie

MikeUniformMike · 28/09/2020 21:06

Marnie - the Hitchcock association puts me off.
Cassia - bark
Aria - Air. Nothingy.

Lemonylemony · 28/09/2020 20:59

In the Hitchcock film, Marnie doesn’t exactly have the easiest or happiest life.....it’s a troubled name IMO!

Cassia is a type of bark, it’s quite a nice name, she’ll be called Cassie a lot though. I prefer Cassiopeia, but I like star names.

Aria.... people will probably mistake it as Arya (Game of Thrones) a lot now.

My vote would be

  1. Cassia
  2. Aria
  3. Marnie (def don’t like Marnie, worst connotations)
PaulinePetrovaPosey · 28/09/2020 20:59

Cassia.

Or Aria if you have a musical connection, otherwise it's a bit random.

Shutupyoutart · 28/09/2020 20:48

I like aria the best
