W name with a W surname!

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 16:22

My surname begins with a W and there is a boys name I really love that starts with a W. I’ve tried saying it out loud so many times but the two Ws together just sound terrible, especially as W isn’t a very strong sound so it sound a bit... can’t really think of the right word, but do you know what I mean? A bit like a speech impediment 😂
Anyone think the double W might actually be ok? I just love the name so much I’m sad I can’t use it.

I like it.
However we thought about Woody W for DS1 and decided against it. He says he is very grateful...

SoPanny · 28/09/2020 19:55

Wyatt Williams sounds like he’d be the cool but sensitive college grad in a US soap.

This is not a bad thing. I like it.

lemoncrisp · 28/09/2020 19:53

Wyatt Williams sounds strong to me. Like it.

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 19:50

@KeeefBurtain thank you :) does sound a bit like a super hero lol but that kinda makes me like it more??

@bleachblondemom, no but every time you introduce yourself or answer the phone, or someone refers to you, unless they are very close, they will use the full name.

If I think of friends and colleagues, they are usually called by both other than within the immediate group, and those with common names are usually referred to as Sarah Surname or John Surname.

For example, if I was asked who my manager was, I'd say Mark Stevens or Sue Roberts or something not Mark or Sue.

zigaziga · 28/09/2020 19:13

Think about how often he'll actually be called by his full name..

A lot, then? Particularly as an adult.

Beautiful3 · 28/09/2020 19:02

I actually think that's lovely, wyatt Williams.

user1493494961 · 28/09/2020 18:41

I was going to say it would probably be fine until you said the name was Wyatt, totally awful.

KeeefBurtain · 28/09/2020 18:02

I love alliterative names. All the superheroes (and villains) have them!

DS2 has a triple alliterative name.

I think Wyatt Williams is a grand name!

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 17:44

@NataliaOsipova interesting, I’d have never thought it was as common as Small and Fry (not that I know many of those but you hear of them lol)

NataliaOsipova · 28/09/2020 17:41

I’ve just been nerdy and looked it up. 530th most popular UK surname (for context, Small is 529 and Fry is 531).

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 17:39

@CorianderLord it’s a good strong family name 👍

SybillFawlty · 28/09/2020 17:36

Can't believe no one has said Wincey Willis...

Wyatt Williams is a good name.

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 17:36

@Littlepond my task for the evening- convince my husband!

CorianderLord · 28/09/2020 17:36

I like Wyatt Williams. My surname will soon be Williams too 😂

CorianderLord · 28/09/2020 17:35

Worked for William Wallace

@DrMadelineMaxwell a Billy Twice!

Littlepond · 28/09/2020 17:35

I love the name Wyatt! And Wyatt Williams sounds great. Do it!

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 17:34

@NataliaOsipova oh ok! I haven’t personally but I believe you! I don’t mind that so much to be honest, if people did think it sounded like a double surname. To be honest the other boys names I like are all also used as surnames so I guess all of my future sons will just have surnames 😂

OP posts:
NataliaOsipova · 28/09/2020 17:31

is Wyatt a surname?

Definitely - I can think of a few people I’ve met personally who are Mr or Miss Wyatt. But, as you rightly say, names sound different to different people.

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 17:26

@Dafspunk 😂😂 someone had to get one in there

Dafspunk · 28/09/2020 17:24

Wyatt Oliver Williams has a real wow factor.

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 17:24

@Aquamarine1029 aww such a nice thing to say 😊

OP posts:
bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 17:23

@RWK29 thank you it is quite cool I think 😏 MM initials work because it’s a good sounding syllable

Aquamarine1029 · 28/09/2020 17:22

The more I think about Wyatt Williams the more I love it. Honestly, it's wonderful name. Strong and gentle at the same time, if that even makes sense! Grin

bleachblondemom · 28/09/2020 17:21

@NataliaOsipova hmm I don’t know, is Wyatt a surname? I don’t think people will jump to that conclusion... but names sound different to everyone.
We do have another full boys name picked out where the middle name is actually used as a surname as well, I said to my husband people will just think that’s his name before they even get to the Williams bit 😆 still love it though
