Common as in well used

I would say fairly common

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Spiderbaby8 · 27/09/2020 15:40

Common, although I haven't met that many personally weirdly. There are a lot of famous people with it who are a bit older than me, maybe it was dropping out of fashion by the time I got to it Grin

PinkJellycat · 27/09/2020 15:36

Uncommon. I've only met two people with my name, both with a variant spelling.

ComicePear · 27/09/2020 15:35

Uncommon.

I have met two people who have the same name (one when I was at uni and the mum of a girl in DS's class - so both around the same age as me). I can also think of one celebrity and several well known fictional characters with this name.

EL8888 · 27/09/2020 15:35

@orangenasturtium same here!

EL8888 · 27/09/2020 15:34

It was when very uncommon when l baby and to a degree when l was a child. Totally usual now! Funny bearing in mind all of the stupid questions and judgements must mum got about it

SerenityNowwwww · 27/09/2020 15:33

Not unheard of but I’ve only met another one once.

Iwantacookie · 27/09/2020 15:30

Ide say quite uncommon but I've noticed a few more of me popping up. I even answered a mother calling her child because I thought she was calling me Blush

orangenasturtium · 27/09/2020 15:29

Classic and quite uncommon when I was growing up, I could never get a personalised pencil case... but now it's in the top 100 and much beloved on MN.

I hated having an unusual name when I was youger, now I hate that it is becoming so popular Grin

WinWinnieTheWay · 27/09/2020 15:28

Common and common. I'd love to change it.

Craiglang · 27/09/2020 15:27

Extremely common when I was born (2 others in my primary school class, a different 4 in my year at secondary), fell out of favour for 30 years or so, now common again.

Pinkmagic1 · 27/09/2020 15:26

Fairly common in the 70's/early 80's. Rarely used now.

Sakura7 · 27/09/2020 15:26

Uncommon. I've seen it mentioned very positively on here, but it's still not popular at all. It's similar to a much more common name which I'm constantly mistaken for.

I go through phases of liking it and wishing I had a more recognisable name. Having to spell it out and correct people all the time is a pain.

Watto1 · 27/09/2020 15:24

Common name but less common spelling.

BikeRunSki · 27/09/2020 15:24

Uncommon but well known

CarolVordermansBum · 27/09/2020 15:23

Uncommon in my age group or younger. The only people I've met with the same name are over 70!

I'm 25.

Lucked · 27/09/2020 15:23

Uncommmon - Rare in fact.

Theworldisfullofgs · 27/09/2020 15:23

My short name is common although I rarely meet anyone my age with the same name.

I've never met anyone with my proper name in real life.

Dailyhandtowelwash · 27/09/2020 15:23

Common and dull. Has been slagged off on here over the years as uninspired and pedestrian. I have no real feelings about it; other people with my name seem generally more sorted in life than me!

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 27/09/2020 15:22

Used to be very uncommon but has risen in popularity and is just inside the top 100 I think.

Susannahmoody · 27/09/2020 15:22

ApolloandDaphne · 27/09/2020 15:22

Very common in my age group but sadly often used as a derogatory term now.

Susannahmoody · 27/09/2020 15:21

Uncommon but not unusual

Blacknosugarplease · 27/09/2020 15:21

Uncommon. I’ve never met anyone with my name. I hated it when I was younger and went by my middle name. Love it now Smile

mrsnec · 27/09/2020 15:20

I was the only one at middle school and 2 in my year at secondary school.

I was born in the late 70's. There's 4 celebrities I can think of with my name and it's been in 2 adverts. One for cars and one for coffee so it's a bit more popular than I'd like.

BrunoMars · 27/09/2020 15:19

Same as @BabyStone

Apart from being addressed as Dear Mr on emails I like it 😊
