Common as in well used

I would say fairly common

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Common.
I can always find stuff in gift shops with my name on.

newnamenewposts · 27/09/2020 16:28

Common in the 70s. I dislike it Blush

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 27/09/2020 16:27

Uncommon. Only ever met one other...in the year below at sixth form, where it created some confusion as everyone was used to the name being unique. My brother, with a highly popular name, never had the same issue as people were used to attaching an identifier.

Nyclair · 27/09/2020 16:26

Uncommon. Never met or come across anyone with my name.

TristanFarnon · 27/09/2020 16:23

Very, very uncommon in the UK. Scandinavian name, doesn't even show in stats as less than (3? 5?) registered in the uk each year.

Wasn't mad on it growing up, love it as an adult.

WiserOwl · 27/09/2020 16:22

It is very common but i dont know another. Nobody else in my year at school. Worked with one once but not now. They are out there though.they are 60 something i think. Im 50

Cam2020 · 27/09/2020 16:22

Uncommon but not out there - pretty classic but not really been fashionable since the 19th century!

FatimaMunchy · 27/09/2020 16:20

Common in the year I was born, but I have seen it described on here as a name which should never be revived. 😕

iklboo · 27/09/2020 16:19

Fairly common and 'of an era'. There were four in my class alone.

minipie · 27/09/2020 16:19

Wasn’t common at all until I was about 10
Then very common for a few years
Now back to uncommon (except for the large number of late 20 somethings with the name)

MaisyMary77 · 27/09/2020 16:17

Uncommon. I’ve never met anyone with my name. There was a pop-singer with my name a couple of years ago. I remember being on the tube when I saw her name written in large letters in the metro newspaper. I was so excited I had to point it out to the poor people next to me and text my sister. Grin

Bekksy · 27/09/2020 16:16

Very Uncommon. Was slightly more popular 100 years ago but even then it didn't make a top 500 list. I have heard of a few and met one person who shares my name.

museumum · 27/09/2020 16:15

Pretty common in the area of the uk I’m in but less so elsewhere. I’ve not heard of a baby in about ten years but it was common from the 70s and earlier through to after 2000.

burglarbettybaby · 27/09/2020 16:14

Mine is very uncommon. For example no other girl out of 1000 in my secondary school had it.
That said its very plain.

FairfaxAikman · 27/09/2020 16:13

Common for the generation I was born in, with a fair few ever since.

AnneElliott · 27/09/2020 16:13

It's considered a classic on the baby name threads. But I think it's a bit boring. It's not Anne.

Sunnydaysstillhere · 27/09/2020 16:12

In 49 years only ever met 2 people of my name...

eandz13 · 27/09/2020 16:11

My NN is very common, actual name (long version of it) pretty uncommon. Rising in popularity though. Classic name.

anorangeaday · 27/09/2020 16:08

Quite common

cricketmum84 · 27/09/2020 16:06

Very uncommon and never met another! Although an old work friend has just used it for his new baby boy....

combatbarbie · 27/09/2020 16:01

Was apparently a common name but I've only come across 3 in my lifetime who are all in the same age group as me(40). Not heard it used outside of my generation.

Jaimeles · 27/09/2020 15:57

Very very very very very common. There was maybe 5 of us in the same class. It's still very common. There are 4 in my niece's class , 3 in my son's class ( and he's 3).

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 27/09/2020 15:44

Common and classic. Both then and now. Despite that I could rarely find 'things' with my name on a a child. :(

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/09/2020 15:44

Uncommon.

Bingobongo1 · 27/09/2020 15:41

Very common it was a top ten name the year I was born.
There were 5 of us in a two form entry school.
My last work place of 11, 3 of us had this name all of a similar age.
