Without saying your first name ,is your name common/uncommon?

Common at the time. Both classes at my primary school had one; I can think of at least three others in my year at secondary; two other mothers in S1's primary school class with the same name, as well as both members of the office staff. French abbess made a saint a few years before I was born, three famous actresses while I was growing up, a pop song with the name in the title. Well-known (if slightly niche) tv producer same age as me.

Haven't met or heard of a child with the name for years.

very common when I was born. (late 1960s) and I was one of 3 in my class at secondary school. However no babies were given my name in the UK last year - so it's due a comeback!

Mine is uncommon, was never on any cups/bookmarks/pencil cases when I was young, and still isn't now. It's not a horrible name, but I've only met one other!

Yes, one of three in my school year. Then I married a man with an extremely common surname too. I like the anonymity.

It was not thought of as uncommon when I was born in the 1970s, although there wasn't anyone with the same name in my year at primary school, secondary school or college. It is much more common now, I am always hearing it out and about and there is usually one in both my DC's classes.

Extremely common. Always had an initial/nickname. Was in a meeting the other day with 8 people and 3 of us had the same name!

My DDs have unusual names!

Sort of inbetween.

Everyone (English) will have heard of it, but it's not usual to meet others. There was NEVER anything with my name on it when I was a child.

Fairly common for women of my generation and slightly older. I know lots of older but far fewer young. One of 3 in my school year. Almost always had a colleague that shares a name.

I was one of 3 in my year at school, same again at work - a good Biblical name! Very popular in the late 70s. I have a less common spelling and go by an uncommon shortening/nickname though. Have always despised it. Yet to meet anyone else with the names we gave our 3 children - lots of pets though!

My name is classic, I know people of all generations with my name. But it's easy to spell and pronounce, it's pretty and I love it.
I know people on the baby name boards are usually looking for something unique or uncommon but there is definitely something to be said for having a simple name Smile

Uncommon but not unusual iyswim, apart from the Irish spelling. I've never met another one of me (Irish spelling) and only a couple of others "normal" spelling in my 45 years.

Not common nowadays and I tend to always be the youngest if I meet anyone with the same name, if that makes sense.

Only ever met one person with my name and same spelling as me. Am pushing 50 and very bored of seeing my name written wrongly. My child has a first name that everyone spells the same way.

Not common but not exactly uncommon either.
I was the only one with my name in a 200 child primary school.
Then when I started high school there were 4 in my year alone (250 to a year).
Since leaving high school, I actually haven't met a single one since, and only know of one famous person/actress with my first name.
So I'm not sure what that means!

Uncommon for my age group, but a universally known name that was far more common in generations before mine...and I think basically none existent since. I’ve never met another in my age group. I hate my name.
