Beautiful girls names but not overused

My problem is the name that I feel like I might go for - unless I find one that feels like ‘the one’ in the next week or two is Grace.

I think it’s beautiful but I know it’s just so popular and that’s what’s bugging me. I noticed it had a real rise in the recent charts as well.

I’d like a feminine pretty name that isn’t overused but isn’t strange in the way that people are confused of spellings.

A boy would have certainly be called Ezra which fits all of my criteria - not overly popular but a well know enough name, lovely name and sound.

Any suggestions would be helpful because it’s getting closer and closer.
I’ve considered Aurelia for a long time but it’s the pronunciation and spelling that’s putting me off of that one.

Thyra. Pronounced Tee-ra. Might be too out there though?

Brogan?

Ezra Grace or both names are short enough to hyphenate without feeling you need to drop the second half: Ezra-Grace.

If you like Ezra, then what about Zara? The only thing is if you later have a boy, it makes using Ezra more difficult.

CeibaTree · 28/09/2020 11:53

Cordelia, Tabitha, Hazel, Iris, Beatrix.

As an aside Ezra is becoming pretty popular - I know of 3 born in the last year.

Thank you for all these lovely suggestions - I hadn’t thought of Ezra for a girl - they combination that was mentioned of Ezra Valentine is so beautiful 😍
I also like Brooke but wasn’t sure if it was too dated...

Aurelia is nice, so is Grace. Would you consider Anna/Hannah? It means Grace and although it was popular at one time, I haven’t met a little one for ages.

Grace may be popular now but in the next 15 years it could dip to 192 on the charts. There's no predicting its future popularity so I would go with a name you love.

My girls name is Tabitha. It means graceful.

I doubt she’ll meet many others whereas she has a class full of people with the same names who are now known as their first name and first initial of their surname. I.e grace s and grace h. I’d try to avoid a common name for this reason.

She also has two sets of different friends with the exact names in her class who she now calls “new grace and Sophie” and “old grace and Sophie” as she met the “old” ones in the class first.
