Just curious on what your thoughts are for the name Caitlin / Cait. Don't like the nickname "Caitie" or "Caity" much though.

I have a Caitlin. She is 19 now. It was a very popular name for the few years around her birth. But I still love it.

Initially friends and family were shortening it to Katie which I didn't mind but it seemed that along with hundreds of Caitlin's there were also hundreds of Katie's. So we started calling her Kitty around 6 months of age and she's been Kitty ever since. I'm the only person who calls her Caitlin and then only when she's been naughty.

As in from Game of Thrones? I like it

@SeanCailleach

How are you saying that?
Probably not the traditional Irish way - I'd be saying it like "kate-lin". Sorry, just personal preference!

@ComicePear

I like Caitlin, but if I had a DD named Caitlin and she was Cait or Caitie for short I'd spell her nickname Kate / Katie to avoid confusion.
Honestly I'm a bit "meh" on Kate. I think it's a nice name and sounds quite professional, but it doesn't strike me as very unique (then again neither is Caitlin, I suppose!)

I love it. Caitlin was on our short list and we used it for a middle name in the end.
