Not Maud, for me it invokes an image of a bosom hoiking, sour faced older woman. Because that's what my great aunt Maud was.

I personally don't like short hard names such as Maud, Saul, Dawn etc.

Maud - more a like or hate name.

Maud probably goes with the trend for names I think of as old fashioned such as Alfie and Ivy though.
