Thoughts?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I much prefer Beatrice.

Beatrix lends itself to the hideous diminutive Trixie, which is only suitable for one of those yappy terriers with a bow on its head.

DipSwimSwoosh · 19/09/2020 20:31

I just hear Beer Tricks

CamelotSweetheart · 19/09/2020 20:04

I love it!

sibbys · 19/09/2020 19:53

I met one Yesterday in my daughter's swim class and I'm just in love with it. My DP has to get on board though. I am kind of a Kill Bill fan so it's weird I haven't thought of it. I'm glad to see the positive response!!!

I like it, but I do prefer Beatrice.

GrouchyKiwi · 19/09/2020 17:33

I love it. My niece is Beatrix, and it has special meaning for our family so it's even nicer.

Aethelthryth · 19/09/2020 17:13

Lovely

AntiHop · 19/09/2020 17:12

I love it! Loved it since I heard it on call the. Midwife (trixie). I also like bea for short. I much prefer it to Beatrice.

Lulu1919 · 19/09/2020 17:08

I know one
Called trixy

SaffieSoph · 19/09/2020 17:08

It’s classic but not overly used, really lovely!

Peachbubble · 19/09/2020 16:47

I like it, much more than Beatrice.

Oneandabean · 19/09/2020 15:42

I love it and love the nn Bea even more

Ellmau · 19/09/2020 14:12

Beatrix reminds me of the old fashioned way of feminising a noun

It's Latin.

Thistlegirl4 · 19/09/2020 13:54

It's not a name you hear much but I do like it the x just makes it that bit different sounding from Beatrice and you have the Beatrix Potter connection, always a winner!

MrsMaglev · 19/09/2020 13:21

Love it and wanted to use it but DH put kibosh on as he knew a weird one when he was younger. Do it!!

Etinox · 19/09/2020 13:12

Lovely name.
And as an aside, as a child it’s really cool having a z or an x in your name Blush

FrenchtoEnglish · 19/09/2020 13:10

Lovely!

BalloonSlayer · 19/09/2020 13:09

I love Beatrice but Beatrix reminds me of the old fashioned way of feminising a noun. In Jane Eyre she
refers to herself as an interlocutrix, for instance (as opposed to interlocutor has she been male).

The only version of this we currently seem to use these days is Dominatrix. Hopefully this wouldn't be an issue.

Avery7 · 19/09/2020 13:01

I think it's a really ugly name

GreenJellyBean · 19/09/2020 12:42

I like the name but struggle to pronounce it correctly.. I don’t know why either as it’s obviously a well known name! Probably just me. Is it meant to sound like Bee-a-trix / Beer-trix / Bee-trix?

dannydyerismydad · 19/09/2020 12:39

I love it. DS would probably have been Beatrix if he'd been a girl.

Kanaloa · 19/09/2020 12:38

It’s a nice name, for some reason I really prefer Beatrice but there’s nothing wrong with Beatrix. I think it’s quite unusual, I’ve never met one.

Sunflower0000 · 19/09/2020 12:36

Love it!

Itwasaquarterpast11 · 19/09/2020 12:27

Love it. Great name, like Trixie for a nn. Love.

CousinDolores · 19/09/2020 12:26

I love it. More unusual than Beatrice, but you can still shorten to Bee/Bea.

I hope you like Peter Rabbit though.
