What do you think of Aurora Rose?
Roses are my favourite flower🌹
And I love the Disney association☺️

I like aurora but what about a traditional middle name just in your case daughter doesn’t like it and prefers to go by her middle name. Off the top of my head, Elizabeth?

GarlicMcAtackney · 17/09/2020 15:45

You asked for people’s opinions, OP, don’t gob off at people who bothered replying, if you wanted ‘yor bubz yur rules hun x’ type of replies, this is not that kind of site, thankfully. Your username suggests you already have a kid called Amelia, another frilly A name with the ubiquitous filler name Rose too, is just too much, and yeah, the rorrahroh noise it makes is unpleasant.

BuffaloCauliflower · 17/09/2020 15:25

@Susannahmoody

have a very ‘proper’ London English sort of voice and it’s too many r’s for me.

^^

Ah well. Conversation over then

Confused

My point was even in an accent with very clear pronunciation it’s hard to say, therefore likely to be even harder in other accents
Sooverthemill · 16/09/2020 20:38

Will you call her by both or is rose her middle name? Might not matter?

WiserOlder · 16/09/2020 17:49

Aurora is a laboured sound imo
Some find it beautiful but it's like red leather yellow leather red leather yellow leather

Spied · 16/09/2020 17:49

It's too 'r' heavy for my liking/accent.
I personally prefer it with Violet however, it's great that Rose has meaning for you ( being your fav flower).

Leakinglikeacolander · 16/09/2020 17:48

Aurora or Rose individually are lovely but too much of an 'r' overload together.

6PEOPLEONLY · 16/09/2020 17:48

Difficult to say in my northern accent. Aurora is fine, add in the rose and rhotic r makes it clunky. Aurora "insert any non R name" will be fine.

MikeUniformMike · 16/09/2020 17:43

Rose is a bit of a filler middle name.

Aurora is one of those names that looks nice written down but is a bit of a mouthful, and it's a bit 'disney princess'.

Firebird83 · 16/09/2020 17:24

I’d go with a different middle name.

Whatsyourflava · 16/09/2020 16:26

Really love the name Aurora Rose

Love Aurora more than Rose but both good choices

Houseplanted · 16/09/2020 16:14

Violet is a much better middle name than Rose when matched with Aurora.

Lockdownfatigue · 16/09/2020 16:14

I think it’s a beautiful name but hard to say.

Ro-ro-ro

Really not trying to be rude or offensive OP, but my opinion is that the name is a bit too girly for my preferences. If you only got replies from people who loved it then that wouldn't be a very representative bunch of opinions would it? You might as well tell yourself in the mirror that it's the perfect name.

Though really if you love it, go for it! There is nothing wrong with it, it's not an awful name at all, but my opinion is that I'm not keen, and I tried to give my reasons why rather than just replying 'yuck'

WilheldivaHater · 16/09/2020 16:13

Aurora Violet is definitely better.

The Rose part ruins the name and makes it sound like the kind of name you'd give to a small dog being carried in a handbag.

madcow88 · 16/09/2020 16:12

My daughter is Aura-Rose

Lsquiggles · 16/09/2020 16:12

Lovely name OP, very whimsical Smile pretty sure I read somewhere the other day that Aurora was voted number 1 of baby names parents regretted calling their child Blush if you love it then crack on Smile

GreenJellyBean · 16/09/2020 16:11

I think it’s a lovely name, sounds and looks very pretty. NN could be Rory. Think it’s become very popular in recent years and I remember reading somewhere that it was in the top 10 names which parents regretted naming their children according to some survey but don’t know why!

abigailamelia · 16/09/2020 16:11

No this is my first time posting😁 im just ignoring the horrible people though.

OP posts:
Aerielview · 16/09/2020 16:11

I think it's hard to say it - there are too many r sounds

DoTheMaccaroni · 16/09/2020 16:10

@abigailamelia

Jesus some people on here are so horrible, I asked for your opinions not your criticism?
Lol this thread is very tame OP!
BuffaloCauliflower · 16/09/2020 16:09

Aurora is lovely though, and the Disney reference is fine! Violet goes better, but I’m sure there are loads of other nice options too. If you like the flower names what about Aurora Lily or Aurora Daisy, both seem to flow a bit better to me?

DoTheMaccaroni · 16/09/2020 16:08

Bleh too many R’s and Rose is way too overused. The Rose part just spoils the name for me.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 16/09/2020 16:06

You haven’t been long on here, OP? Grin
