My fiancee and I can't decide which name we like more with our dughters Daisy, Indie and Poppy. Can you help us out?

Ruby.

I don’t understand the love for Elodie. It sounds so clunky when said by British people.

missmouse101 · 17/09/2020 03:18

Ruby. Elodie just sounds like L.O.D and people think you're saying Melody (which is actually much nicer.)

Cecelori · 17/09/2020 02:42

Difficult one, I love both probably would just edge elodie of the two, however Ruby flows so much better with your other daughters names

Sk1nnyB1tch · 16/09/2020 16:46

I'm sorry I'm no use, can't decide between them either!
Both lovely names as are your other daughters so whichever you choose will be good 🙂

Fressia123 · 16/09/2020 16:45

I love Elodie that's the name we'd use if we ever have another baby

GreenJellyBean · 16/09/2020 16:41

I would use Ruby with the sibling names, all beautiful!

Persipan · 16/09/2020 09:44

I used to know an Elodie who was Lili for short, if that adds anything?

AcrobaticCardigan · 16/09/2020 09:29

Ruby is gorgeous and matches the names of your other children beautifully. Elodie I really dislike. It sounds quite ugly to me.

MonsteraDeliciosa · 15/09/2020 16:27

I dislike Elodie (my spellchecker doesn’t like it either, though it does like Eloise) because it sounds like “elodea” which is a weed. Agree with a PP that it sounds a bit meh without a french accent, too.

Ruby is nice, though.

MikeUniformMike · 15/09/2020 15:45

Ruby is more in keeping with the other names.
Elodie is nice in a french accent but a bit nothingy in a UK one, and yet another El- name.

NanooCov · 15/09/2020 15:01

I prefer Ruby as the Elodies I know always get called DeeDee, which I really dislike.

EriAndo · 15/09/2020 00:24

Ruby as Élodie is far too similar to Indie.
Also better to have a two syllable name as your other girls.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 14/09/2020 22:57

I prefer Elodie as a name - but Ruby scans better with your other names. That said, it would soon sound better when said a few times

DramaAlpaca · 14/09/2020 22:53

I like both, but prefer Ruby with your other names.

nhsnamechange · 14/09/2020 22:52

Ruby fits better, but Elodie is equally as lovely

Flappingflamingo · 14/09/2020 19:59

Really don't like Ruby sorry, love elodie though

Oneandabean · 14/09/2020 19:32

Elodie is nicer, ruby isvery common and makes me think of a promiscuous woman

Whatsyourflava · 14/09/2020 18:30

Both gorgeous
Sorry not much help

VenusClapTrap · 14/09/2020 11:03

Ruby

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 14/09/2020 10:34

Elodie

Lavenderblues · 14/09/2020 10:32

Ruby fits much better.

Although I prefer Elodie personally.

lemonandthyme · 14/09/2020 09:10

Elodie. Gorgeous name!

itsjakeandamy · 14/09/2020 09:08

Elodie.

Firebird83 · 14/09/2020 09:08

Elodie sounds a bit too similar to Indie as the last syllable is the same.

Firebird83 · 14/09/2020 09:06

Ruby goes better with the other names
