Dc2 is due in November and we have no names on the list. Not a single one.
We don’t know the sex of the baby so would love suggestions for both.

I work with children and have a huge family which is not helping as it knocks lots out of the running. DH is clueless.

  • Dd1 has a classic name that was uncommon when we named her but has risen in popularity. I seem to like classic girls names.
  • I would prefer less popular but recognisable.
  • I seem to be drawn to biblical boys names but am open to ideas. Again, prefer underused but not too out there.
  • Any name must have good nickname options. I know that mumsnet is often against preplanning this but every name gets shortened in my family and I want to make sure that it is to something that I like.
  • surname is Evan so needs to go with that.

I know that I sound really awkward and probably am but any ideas would be appreciated. Smile

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes @Standrewsschool they are definitely along the right lines.
I have started a list from here in the hope that one of the names starts to grow on me. I like lots of them. But don’t LOVE any of them yet.
Dd’s name was so easy. I heard it and knew. I don’t think I am going to feel the same about this baby’s name. Which makes me a bit sad.
On the like, but not quite love list are
Jonah
Joel
Jude
Caleb
Casper
Asher
Daniel, Isaac, Eli, Noah, James - love lots of these but can’t use as is a close family member
Abel- wrong with surname
Atticus, Ezekiel- love but maybe too out there for us. I don’t think that I’m brave enough.

Jemima
Annabel
Clara
Rosalind
Rosalie
Elizabeth, Beatrice- close family

ncqtime · 12/09/2020 22:01

I feel like whatever you go for don't end the name in an a sound, so as to avoid the 'reven' sound or awkwardness pronouncing it clearly. Depends on your accent though I guess.

Gracie?
