Dc2 is due in November and we have no names on the list. Not a single one.
We don’t know the sex of the baby so would love suggestions for both.

I work with children and have a huge family which is not helping as it knocks lots out of the running. DH is clueless.

  • Dd1 has a classic name that was uncommon when we named her but has risen in popularity. I seem to like classic girls names.
  • I would prefer less popular but recognisable.
  • I seem to be drawn to biblical boys names but am open to ideas. Again, prefer underused but not too out there.
  • Any name must have good nickname options. I know that mumsnet is often against preplanning this but every name gets shortened in my family and I want to make sure that it is to something that I like.
  • surname is Evan so needs to go with that.

I know that I sound really awkward and probably am but any ideas would be appreciated. Smile

@wuickquestion I like Alice but again it’s a close family members name.
That’s the problem with being one of 5 siblings and marrying someone who is one of 6.

Thomas could be a contender for middle name but can’t be the first again because of family.

If only it was that easy @Disfordarkchocolate. I’m afraid that neither of those are a go. uncle knobhead and friends loony ex

I do love Atticus but it’s just not us at all. I feel like it’s too cool for us.

I was going to suggest Ezra but I don't know if Ezra Evan is really cool or just too much Grin

Anna ? Annabel

Thomas is nice, classic.

Disfordarkchocolate · 16/09/2020 17:14

Miranda and Andrew. Job done.

Janus · 16/09/2020 17:12

I love Atticus, I wanted it for my son’s middle name, my husband wanted something else, he now has no middle name 😂

Thneedville · 16/09/2020 17:06

Ooo yes Atticus is fantastic

Thneedville · 16/09/2020 17:05

I wanted to say Genevieve until I saw your surname. Sadly I think too much of a mouthful.

Mariella
Margot
Romilly
Susannah
Suki
Thalia

Can’t think of any boys names to add!

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 16/09/2020 16:58

Ephraim (Eph)

I bloody love that name but combined with DD's name they would have sounded like a tiny old Jewish couple Grin

LunaNorth · 16/09/2020 16:56

We call our Elliot ‘Ells’.

You say you love Atticus and Ezekiel. Use them! They’re not that out there! Atticus in particular is gorgeous.

GreenJellyBean · 16/09/2020 16:53

Not biblical but Amora is unusual and gorgeous for a girl, heard this the other day Smile

LittleTiger007 · 16/09/2020 16:48

Malachi even. Oops.

LittleTiger007 · 16/09/2020 16:40

There are so many lovely biblical boys names that aren’t too common: Jonah, Reuben, Malakai (Mally, Kai) Gabriel, Raphael (Raff, Raffy), Elijah (Eli), Asher, Caleb, Thaddeus, Tobias, Toby, Zachary, Lucas, Nathaniel (Nate), Phineas (Finn), etc...

Girls the only biblical ones I like are Shiloh, Grace, Phoebe, Naomi & Jemima.

Somethingvague · 15/09/2020 19:17

Zachary and Claudia

Bubblebox · 15/09/2020 19:15

Just to say that they are all perfectly nice names but they are either too closely connected to children that’s I have worked with or are just not my taste.

We’ll dh doesn’t like any of the suggestions. So far he has suggested Dexter and George.
And Eve or Luna.
I don’t like any of those. Sad
