Bear

For girls we like:
Heather
Paloma

Marina
Adelaide
Rosemary
Mango

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Shutupyoutart · 05/09/2020 15:41

Oh god not mango. Clay for a boy. Caspian is ok too act. Dont really like any of the girls names tho. Sorry

EL8888 · 05/09/2020 15:40

Adelaide is the only one l like

AHintOfStyle · 05/09/2020 15:39

Devon and Heather

Badoukas · 05/09/2020 15:39

Mango for a girl definitely. Then maybe Avocado for a boy.

user1477391263 · 05/09/2020 15:38

Oh and Orion => Onion.

user1477391263 · 05/09/2020 15:38

Decent names:

Forrest
Devon
Caspian

For girls we like:
Heather
Paloma
Marina
Adelaide
Rosemary
Margo ( I assume this is what you meant to type!?)

I would assume an "August" was a girl. And "Jules" is most often what girls called Julia, Juliet etc. get called for short. Clay is awful---why would you want your child named after a lump of earth? Fox and Bear are very porn star. And you're aware of what "woody" is slang for, right?

I think all the girls' names are OK except Storm which is just silly.

Out of the above, I like Caspian and Adelaide.

TheChristmasPrincess · 05/09/2020 15:37

For boys I like August and Caspian (although I don't think Caspian is very useable on real child unless you love in a trendy hipster area). Fox is a guilty pleasure of mine but again it isn't very useable in real life unless used as a middle name with a very normal first name for the brave. Clay and Jules are okay but not my style. Devon is kind of growing on me as a cool, quirky name although I'm not overly fond of place names.

I feel like people will mistake Orion as Ryan in person and Onion in writing (if it happens to him during the register he will be known as Onion for the rest of the year). Woody and Bear has the potential for teasing, especially because of sexual connotations. Forrest is actually a cool, quirky name in itself but again has the potential for teasing because of Forrest Gump (anytime he runs people will shout "Run Forrest") so I wouldn't personally use it.

I like Marina (cool and modern) and Rosemary (cute and vintage, love Rose or Rosie as potential nicknames) best out of the girls names. I think Heather is a little dated these days but it isn't terrible. Again, Adelaide is acceptable but a bit clunky old lady-ish. I have no strong feelings either way for Paloma.

Storm has the potential for teasing ('Storm in a teacup' etc, especially
if she has a stormy temper) and seems more suited to an animal than a person. Please don't name your child Mango! I can find redeeming qualities in the other names but Mango is just terrible 😐

@TwelvetyOClock

Was that meant to be Margo, by any chance?
Margo is nice.
TenThousandSpoons · 05/09/2020 15:36

Woody but as a nickname for Edward.

I’m not keen on any of the girls’ names I’m afraid. Lots of them seem quite old fashioned whereas the boys’ names are quite...modern.

AdaColeman · 05/09/2020 15:22

Orion or Bear, Mango or Storm are my faves hun. xx

sheetspread · 05/09/2020 15:21

Jules, August, Forrest and Woody are the nicest of your boy names.

Paloma, Marina and Adelaide are very nice too. (Nicer, I think, than they best of the boys' names).

MarshaBradyo · 05/09/2020 15:21

Rosemary

TwelvetyOClock · 05/09/2020 15:20

Heather is nice.
For boys, August is best.

TwelvetyOClock · 05/09/2020 15:19

Was that meant to be Margo, by any chance?

SummerSummerSummertime · 05/09/2020 15:18

I'd go with Devon & Paloma

SummerSummerSummertime · 05/09/2020 15:18

Please don't call a child Mango.

SummerSummerSummertime · 05/09/2020 15:17

Where do you live @SoonToBeDad30 ?

Chocolatedeficitdisorder · 05/09/2020 15:15

Heather, Marina, Jules and Woody.

Mango makes this womango ouch!

DuckonaBike · 05/09/2020 15:13

Your first few boys’ names would work quite well for a girl actually. I was at school with a girl called Devon, I thought it was quite a cool name.

Caspian is OK.

Please, do not use Mango. Or Forrest (Forrest Gump?).

augustusglupe · 05/09/2020 15:12

Not keen on any. I mean Forrest? That whole child’s life would be quotations from the film.

DramaAlpaca · 05/09/2020 15:09

Heather or Rosemary.

I'm far too polite to say what I think of the rest.

But - Mango??? I'd blame pregnancy hormones for that but you say you're the dad.

KurriKawari · 05/09/2020 15:08

Actually how did I miss Clay? Could be unisex too. Go for it. I think depending on your surname it could sound quite grand "Clay Montague".

mylittleavalon · 05/09/2020 15:07

Caspian, Marina. Please not mango.

hnhvt · 05/09/2020 15:07

Rosemary is ok, the rest are awful. Sorry

BingoGo · 05/09/2020 15:07

August is a very normal name where I'm from (Denmark). Lovely. So I'd pick that one 100% for a boy.

Storm is mostly a boy's name to me though. So I'd also pick that one for a boy.

Not keen on your girls names.
