Penelope. I love it.

VinylDetective · 07/09/2020 20:27

Violet is beautiful. My favourite of the two by a country mile.

KoalasandRabbit · 07/09/2020 20:23

Violet as don't like Peneloppe but Violet is close to Violence

BabyLlamaZen · 07/09/2020 20:19

Penelope is more classic, but I actually prefer violet.

If you like both, I'd say Penelope for longevity and sounds better on an adult, not just a cute child/old lady.

MikeUniformMike · 07/09/2020 20:17

They are quite different.
I know an adult Vi and adult Pennys.
I think I'd choose Violet.

sibbys · 07/09/2020 19:06

Violet

Tired of Penelope now

danascully96 · 06/09/2020 19:05

Vastly prefer Violet over Penelope. I suspect Penelope is a bit of a marmite name as I've always not taken a liking.

IslandLulu · 05/09/2020 13:15

Penelope

MustStopSnacking28 · 05/09/2020 13:11

Oh my two favourite names. I would go with Violet I think. I have an Isaac so can’t use that name really now as I think Isaac and violet sound weird together.

Unseeliequeen · 05/09/2020 13:10

I prefer Penelope.

Violet Beauregarde.
Violent.

Astronica · 05/09/2020 13:07

Both lovely names, about equally popular, and have a very similar vibe to me. Does one sound better with the surname?
If all being equal with the surname, what about if there are preferred short forms for each, or would you prefer to only use the full name? I love Nell, Pip, Pippa or Pen for Penelope, and don't mind Penny. Not so keen on Vi, but then Violet is less likely to be shortened.

SummerSummerSummertime · 05/09/2020 08:28

Violet

joystir59 · 05/09/2020 08:25

Both pretty dire but at knife point I'd go for Violet

HeronLanyon · 05/09/2020 07:10

I like violet a lot.
I still connect it with Violet Elizabeth Bott but that may be because I’ve recently listened to some Just William audio books.
Nice names, both.

Pineapple30 · 05/09/2020 07:08

Penelope

Peachbubble · 05/09/2020 07:07

Violet. Penelope is OK, but I don't like it shortened to Penny.

CakeRattleandRoll · 05/09/2020 07:06

Penelope.

itsjakeandamy · 04/09/2020 23:45

Violet.

BurtonHouse · 04/09/2020 23:35

Penelope.
Classic, elegant and just fab.
Violet Elizabeth Bott with a lithp

Firebird83 · 04/09/2020 20:18

Penelope. Violet does sound too close to violent for me.

RuthW · 04/09/2020 20:12

Violet as I don't like Penny.

Reader1984 · 04/09/2020 19:40

Violet

gypsywater · 04/09/2020 19:38

@SunbathingDragon Dont be so petty and precious. The OP asked for opinions. That includes those that YOU may not agree with.

jldy2020 · 04/09/2020 19:35

Violet's a lovely name!

WatershipDown7 · 04/09/2020 19:31

I love Violet but don’t like Penelope.
