Please tell me what you think of the name Esther?

I'm not due for a few months so just getting ideas.

I really like it, husband is not sure but he doesn't dislike it, It's just not very common where we live.

Honest opinions please?

I love it actually!

WhenZoomWasJustAnIceLolly · 07/10/2021 20:09

Really gorgeous.

midsomermurderess · 05/10/2021 23:00

I like it. It has a strength to it.

WeasilyPleased · 05/10/2021 22:58

My partner in crime at Uni was called Esther. Coolest woman on the planet with a cool name too.

annacondom · 05/10/2021 21:54

I like it. Strong, classical, elegant.

I really don't like Hester, but couldn't tell you why!

littlelots123 · 05/10/2021 21:47

@spottygreen hi just wondering if you went with the name Esther in the end! We are thinking of that name for our second daughter due December!

daisypond · 31/08/2020 17:38

I like it a lot. I know two teen ones. Also like Hester.

TreesoftheField · 31/08/2020 15:28

It's my sister's name, it really suits her. Lovely choice

florascotia2 · 30/08/2020 16:29

I like it. As previous poster has said, the Biblical Esther was an amazing woman.
I also like Hester, the 17th cent English version.

Carouselfish · 30/08/2020 14:26

It's too far the other way from pretty and frilly. Frumpy in my mind, though not as bad as Hester.

YummyJamDoughnut · 30/08/2020 09:45

It's very pretty. I love it!

Tillygetsit · 29/08/2020 23:28

Love it. One of my favourite people is called Esther so remibds me of her.

TruffleMama · 29/08/2020 22:54

How about Aster, Ada, Estie, Etti, or Vesper?

itsjakeandamy · 29/08/2020 22:40

Nn not non

SemperIdem · 29/08/2020 22:40

I think it’s a really unattractive name. Similar to Hester and Ethel, granted not as bad.

itsjakeandamy · 29/08/2020 22:40

I like it but prefer Hester. I love Hettie as a non.

NC4Now · 29/08/2020 21:45

Love it - strong and elegant. I almost chose it as my confirmation name (picked Martha instead).

missmouse101 · 29/08/2020 21:42

No, awful. Sad

PetraRabbit · 29/08/2020 21:32

Just perfect!

VenusClapTrap · 29/08/2020 20:40

Strong, elegant name. Good choice. It was on my list but we went with Audrey which I think has a similar feel.

TruffleMama · 29/08/2020 20:30

I'm so sorry OP, I really don't like it.

My great grandmother lived in a care home and the lovely old lady that lived in the apartment next to hers was called Esther. The name makes me think of her and the horrible character named Esther in the horror film "The Orphan".

Girraffophant · 29/08/2020 20:28

Love it

ButterflyRuns · 29/08/2020 20:26

I like it!

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 29/08/2020 20:23
