Mine is fairly common.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

DS1 and DS2 - unlisted in their year of birth (they are old English/ Welsh names)

DD's name is 838th so very uncommon especially outside Cornwall

I get lots of compliments on their names.

zigaziga · 28/08/2020 08:26

One common, one not. Don’t regret either but I do sometimes wonder if the uncommon one really seems like the right name to have used or not.

Dededa · 28/08/2020 08:17

One top 30, one late top 100.

Fennelandlovage · 28/08/2020 07:48

Just looked up.

One was one of two the year she was born and another was one of 30 so guessing fairly uncommon. The second was very uncommon for long time and beginning to come into vogue now.

dollypops15 · 28/08/2020 07:44

1st child uncommon but now 14 years later loads of little children called it.
2nd child common so double barrelled it.
3rd uncommon

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 28/08/2020 07:40

Class,not ass

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 28/08/2020 07:39

I don't think there is anyone at either of their schools with their name. Well I'm not sure now the oldest has just started academy. They aren't unusual names though, pretty mainstream and traditional. DP had 6 boys with the same name as him in his primary ass at school!

parrotonmyshoulder · 28/08/2020 07:37

DD uncommon. Know a few adult ones but no children with her name.

DS uncommon in his age group. Meet adults with the name often and he likes it (common name in age 40ish bracket)

FelicityPike · 28/08/2020 07:18

Very uncommon....but not made up or “unique”.

Thegirlhasnoname · 28/08/2020 07:13

Mine was in the top 20 the year she was born but have yet to meet another (the stats said she was one of 25 named it that year in the city we live in so she might have another in her year when she starts school but none so far at nursery)

JanewaysBun · 28/08/2020 07:07

Dc1 - top 20 when they were born (and in my area #1!!)

Dc2 - number 600 i think

Mine - last on the list in 1998!

4kidmom · 28/08/2020 07:04

When I named my three boys their names were in the top 100, but not the top 10. I thought my daughter’s name was quite uncommon. It wasn’t even in the top 200. I was surprised that another student shares her name at school.

NerrSnerr · 28/08/2020 07:02

Both of mine are around 100 on the baby names lists but I think one will become more popular soon as that generation of names is coming in. Both are well known, old fashioned names.

Heartlake · 28/08/2020 07:01

DD and DS were at #35 and #23 in the charts in the year of their birth respectively, which is just how we wanted it! (Didn't choose them for that reason). DH and I have well-used names that don't particularly point to one generation or another, and we have always been grateful for that!

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 28/08/2020 06:58

Both.
He has a really common given name.
But he goes by a really old fashioned nick name for it.

Xiaoxiong · 28/08/2020 06:57

Both my DSs have British saints names (not with weird spellings either), but only 18 babies with DS1's name and 12 with DS2's name were born last year. So I guess that makes them traditional but uncommon.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 28/08/2020 06:55

I've just Googled my own name and no babies in England or Wales were given my name last year. Its obviously due a revival 🤣

orangejuicer · 28/08/2020 06:52

Very common in the usual 'lists' but I've never known anyone with his name.

Phillycheesesteak · 28/08/2020 06:51

Underused biblical classic. About 70 on the charts.

VirginiaWolverine · 28/08/2020 06:51

DD's is a classical name which is too unusual to show on the charts.

DS's is unusual, but more common. There are generally around 10-20 boys a year with his name.

Tlollj · 28/08/2020 06:44

Ds1. Uncommon
Dd1. Uncommon
Ds2. Number one in the recent list
Ds3. Uncommon
This has changed massively since they were born.

LostInTheColonies · 28/08/2020 06:44

DD - not even in the top 100 when she was born; now just outside the top 30.
Have never met another her age though! And only a very small number overall, of very scattered ages.

timeforawine · 28/08/2020 06:41

Very uncommon, might not be another person with this name in the UK.
She has a Hawaiian name

Wowcherarestalkingme · 28/08/2020 06:38

DS1 very common. Never knew anyone with it when we chose it, now top 5.
DS2 less so but still in top 100

trappedsincesundaymorn · 28/08/2020 06:22

When DD was born (20+ years ago), her name was rare as a first name, now it's more common. I like to think I set a trend. Grin
