Here’s the link for the name search tool that the bbc have published on their article. They did it in 2018 for the 2017 list and it was so handy and fun to use so I thought I’d share!

Doesn’t work for England and Wales for me either

Tried all the names like grace, Ava, Oliver etc. Nothing. Bumsy

I don’t understand why they have bothered when names.darkgreener already does this perfectly well (it hasn’t yet been updated for 2019 but it’s usually pretty soon after the ONS release).

It was the same tool a few years ago and it worked perfectly!

Here’s the article from that year (released 2018 but 2017 list)

Actually... it doesn’t seem to be working for me 🙈 keeps saying “there were no babies with this name in 2018” Hmm
I thought that but there were babies in Scotland and Northern Ireland so changed depending on nations
