Send help - I HATE every girls’ name I hear!

I need inspiration, I’m 30 weeks pregnant with a baby girl and we just can’t find a name either of us like. My baby’s dad is African (Congolese to be precise) so she is mixed race and will have an African surname. I’d quite like the idea of something African but easy to pronounce (nobody can ever spell or pronounce my surname and it drives me insane) like Nala or Zuri.
It certainly doesn’t have to be African, I’m open to anything but I work with children so the standard Amelia, Evie, Lily etc are all out. I’m also not a fan of traditional names e.g. Charlotte or Emily and don’t like old names, such as Edie etc.
The only name is really love to use is Marley but he doesn’t like that. Please someone help! Boys names are so easy but I find girl names really difficult!

I love Nala and too know two who’ve named pets that name. A variation could be Nyla? To throw another in, I’ve just had a Philippa :)

Lucylivesinamushroomhouse · 25/08/2020 20:33

What about Rehema, nn Hemi. I think it’s Swahili for compassion.

You can download an excel spreadsheet of all girls names given in the UK last year on the ONS website (all names except where only 1 or 2 people were given that name that year). It might help as there are so many names on there and its listed in order of popularity.
