My Isobel Maeve was named after a downtown abbey character but mostly for her Dads paternal Scottish family & we heard Maeve on a Louis Theroux documentary but it turned out it was the anglicised Irish Meadbh and her Dads maternal family originate from Ireland.

I love her name & so glad we chose it Smile

I'm welsh so it suits me her name has Celtic origin Grin the next baby if we are lucky enough will have a welsh name.

I think an M would work well with that combination

Bubbletrouble43 · 21/08/2020 09:12

I have an Isabel, she is Isabel Maisie, as that was my grandmother's name ( Maisie - not short for anything BTW)
I also liked
Isabel Nora
Isabel Cora
Isabel Marie ( another beloved family members name, her twin sister had that one)
Isabel Martha

Infact Isabel is fantastic as I think it goes with almost everything!

I have Isabel Grace which according to this site are two of the most overused names!! 😂 😂 Anyway my daughter suits it perfectly and we all love it 😍

Isobel Clementine

I have a regret about my DD's name which is that I chose a name I like rather than one that had family or cultural meaning. Most people don't use their middle names for anything other than an initial , so I now think it is nice to have an association.

micc · 21/08/2020 06:58

Isobel Anne, Ana (like frozen Ana), Anna?

micc · 21/08/2020 06:57

I'm an Isobel!

My favourites that people have suggested are Isobel Maeve and Isobel Marie or Maria?

I'm named after someone so my name is Isobel Debra which is reeeeeeeeally random!

Isobel Sophie would be lovely. I also think Isobel Rosalie would be beautiful. I think one syllable names would work well too. Examples: Isobel June, Isobel Grace, Isobel Clare, Isobel Jane , Isabel Rose, Isobel Hope and Isobel Kate. The three syllables in the first name, one in the middle and two at the end would be a good rhythm.

daisypond · 20/08/2020 22:39

Sophie and Rosa are both lovely as middle names. Olivia is a bit of a mouthful after Isobel, so maybe not that.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 20/08/2020 22:39

@Oneandabean

I have an Isabelle, she’s Isabelle Seren Amelia

No family names I like to honour.

We've a 2 syllable surname starting with M.
