What do you think of the name Willabelle for a girl? DH looks quite keen, and while I think that it is pretty and has a bit of a woodland princess feel to it, I'm not sure if it is a good name for a child or if it is better being left for fairytale princesses.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Marcipex · 17/08/2020 17:21

No it’s awful.
Annabel is nice.
Isabelle
Even Ellabelle.

lilyfire · 17/08/2020 17:21

Willa is beautiful. Like Willa Muir who translated Kafka and generally sounded cool.

Frenchic · 17/08/2020 17:16

Willa is beautiful, but you’ll be taking a chance with that, Willabella will be absolutely ripped into mercilessly at secondary.

SatanicDesk · 17/08/2020 17:12

@allsideways 😂 willy bell[end] was also my first thought!

tillytoodles1 · 17/08/2020 17:11

No, it's an awful name.

Fennelandlovage · 17/08/2020 17:11

I am very open about names and it’s a no for me too. I like Willa though and some of the other combinations suggested here.

Aquamarine1029 · 17/08/2020 17:09

It's horrible.

yikesanotherbooboo · 17/08/2020 17:08

Christabel
Anabel
Isobel
Willa
Willow
Willabelle sounds like a nickname to my ear

TheVanguardSix · 17/08/2020 17:08

Nope.

I like Mirabella or Mirabel, Isobel, or Arabella.
Clarabelle.
Willa on its own is lovely.

FiddlefigOnTheRoof · 17/08/2020 17:06

Ahahahaa

allsideways · 17/08/2020 17:04

Willy bellend is too much of a risk

whatausername · 17/08/2020 16:58

Oh dear me. Best left for fairytales. It's verrrry nicknamey.

buttcrackmcheese · 17/08/2020 16:56

Got to be a joke!

RaspberryRuff · 17/08/2020 16:55

Willabelle is awful. Far too many L’s

KatherineJaneway · 17/08/2020 16:55

I misread it as Willoughby Blush

Absolutely would not use that name. She would constantly be called 'willy' as a nn. Don't do that to your child.

LirBan · 17/08/2020 16:54

@Manteo

How about Mirabel?
I like that. and Maribel

Willow Mirabel and Willow Maribel sound ok

cormorantes · 17/08/2020 16:54

Hmmmm Is it for a boy or girl?

LirBan · 17/08/2020 16:51

It does sound made up sorry.

I think Willow Christabel with nn willabel would be lovely.

Although I prefer Christabel really. Christabel Willow

Willow Isabel and Willow Annabel don't work because the vowel sounds run shmush unclearly in to each other.

RumpoleoftheBaileys · 17/08/2020 16:50

Sorry, no

Will a bell - do what exactly?

Mogtheforgetfulmum · 17/08/2020 16:49

She will be called 'willybelly' by the time she reaches secondary school. Teenagers are ruthless.

PaundryLouder · 17/08/2020 16:49

Also, it makes me think it's an incomplete question e.g.
Will a bell be necessary?
Will a bell be useful?

PaundryLouder · 17/08/2020 16:48

...is ridiculous.

turnthebiglightoff · 17/08/2020 16:47

Hideous. Not a name.

hellojim · 17/08/2020 16:47

No, it sounds ridiculous

StopGo · 17/08/2020 16:46

It's an old German name, a variant on Wilhelmina.
