Elliot - how many do you know?

And how old are they?

I think we’re pretty much set on Elliot if this baby is a boy but it seems to be popping up more, so after a totally unscientific poll! (I don’t know if this is just the fact I am paying more attention to the name than before. Like when you’re pregnant and see a pregnant woman every other second Grin)

I have an Elliott. There seems to be one on every day out we go on, but I expect that is because I am very tuned into hearing the name called Grin
He is the only one in his school.

Mashingthecompost · 22/08/2020 18:45

One mid 20s, another about 4yo.

MostShamelessWoman · 13/08/2020 18:39

Thanks for more replies!

@JaffaCakeGal for us we will definitely go with Elliot because although like PP’s I like the symmetry of Elliott - personally I prefer Elliot.

Elliot/Elliott is on our shortlist, just can't decide on how many Ts! I think I know of one who's about 14

NataliaOsipova · 11/08/2020 18:50

One who is 9 and one who is 29.

Addicted89 · 11/08/2020 18:46

@scullie so many people have spelt his name with one ‘t’ already, think I might get fed up correcting them eventually.
I agree, It does look good when it’s written though, I’m always writing his name as I love how it looks, he’s also got ‘ll’ in his middle and last name so it all flows.

scullie · 11/08/2020 15:56

And my little Elliott who is 13 Smile

If I had my choice again I would probably go with a single 't' spelling as he's always having his name spelt incorrectly which we all find annoying. Although I love the look of the double t when his name is written down. It seems more balanced!

Addicted89 · 11/08/2020 07:40

Only my little Elliott who is 5 months old. We chose it partly because it isn’t a very popular name at the moment and we absolutely love it!

Dededa · 11/08/2020 07:00

That’s a lie 4, the above plus 1 in his 40s

Gorgeous name

Dededa · 11/08/2020 07:00

3 - 20s, 4/5 ish, baby

Shinygreenelephant · 11/08/2020 00:07

One who's 34 and one who's 2, both male

MintyCedric · 10/08/2020 23:11

1 x 40yo

1 x 2yo

SingleHandSue · 10/08/2020 23:00

I know 2

One is 14, one is 11

aprilfools19 · 10/08/2020 22:58

One who’s 17.
I always think of the kid from ET when I hear the name. (Not a bad thing! Great character and great movie) but I do strong associate the name with it. Probably because I know so few irl.

Hippocampe · 10/08/2020 22:38

One who must be about 35, and another who's 5 😊. It's a lovely underused name. Does remind me of e.t though and always want to say the name in his voice 😅

janetmendoza · 10/08/2020 22:33

One aged about 18

Mallowmarshmallow · 10/08/2020 22:32

I only know one, my own, who is six. Apparently there was one in reception last year at school too but no others in the school.

My Elliot really is the loveliest, gentlest, sweetest boy; compliments people when they wear nice clothes, is empathic and kind, managed well with his very difficult younger sister. So for me, it portrays a really lovely boy. Blush

fuckingcovid · 10/08/2020 22:30

Actually 2. Another one who is in DS2s class (7)

Trashtara · 10/08/2020 22:29

I like it as a name. I know one aged 11 and a handful aged about 18months, seemed popular when I had DD.

DD has an unusual name (not top 500) and yet I've met 5 others! Sofs law really.

fuckingcovid · 10/08/2020 22:29

DS is an Elliot and he is 12

Moonflower12 · 10/08/2020 22:22

None. I've never taught one either in 20 years!
I think it's a lovely name.

Hepcat75 · 10/08/2020 22:21

I know one and he's a bit of a wide boy, but I quite like the name: don't watch 'The Sure Thing' with John Cusack if you're wedded to the name, as the writer of that film clearly didn't like it! Grin

Whatsyourflava · 10/08/2020 22:15

I don't know any

I think you're safe @MostShamelessWoman - Elliot has remained around the number 80 mark in the official name charts for the past 25 years so it's certainly not about to boom or anything!! I've actually never seen a name hold so steady!? I'm such a geek.

(Elliott with two T's also held steady for 25 years too!)

Aquicknamechange2019 · 10/08/2020 22:15

Two, a 41 year old man and an 8 year old girl

Theforest · 10/08/2020 21:57

One -13 but I can't get past ET !!
