We have a baby due in late 2020. We like the name Harrison. Our last name is Johnson. Does Harrison Johnson sound reasonable? Or do the ‘son’ endings sound silly together? If so, open to other ideas. Thank you very much for your help.

Oh no, please don’t. I like the suggestion above of Harris.

The flow very much reminds me of "Have you had an accident at work that wasn't your fault? Called Harrison Johnson today".. but I do like the name. He may very much want to be a solicitor when he grows up and then he is absolutely set! Could you break it up with a middle name?

Flynn999 · 09/08/2020 13:17

Does sound like a form of solicitors.

Harry Johnson works well.
Harris Johnson which gets rid of the double ‘son’ sound.

MikeUniformMike · 09/08/2020 13:05

No. It sounds silly.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 09/08/2020 12:44

Tbh I can’t get the solicitors comment out my head “no win no fee call Harrison Johnson today”

SweatyAndyFromWoking · 09/08/2020 12:43

I think it's fine. It wouldn't even occur to me to think it's odd

sunrainwind · 09/08/2020 12:42

I don't think it flows well and I wouldn't do it but it could be a lot worse!

Crystal87 · 09/08/2020 12:37

Agree it doesn't sound awful but doesn't flow very well.

Whatsyourflava · 09/08/2020 12:36

I actually think it sounds nice
Has a good symmetry to it
If you hadn't pointed it out though I wouldn't have noticed the two "sons"

99.9% of the time he'll just be called Harrison not his full name anyway

AdaColeman · 09/08/2020 12:10

I don't think it works very well, it sounds more like the name of a firm of accountants than a child's name.

Bloodylush · 09/08/2020 12:08

I wouldn’t.

Harry?

VinoOlive · 09/08/2020 12:07

It's not awful but agree it doesn't flow very well.

What about Harry Johnson?

newmum332 · 09/08/2020 12:02

I don’t think it goes that well but it’s definitely not the worst combination I’ve heard.
It’s not that often the first and last names are said together most of the time he will just be Harrison so I wouldn’t stress about it too much if you love it

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 09/08/2020 11:58

Sounds like a firm of solicitors
