How many Graces do you know?

Following on from a precious thread this morning - I am swaying towards Grace to be known as Gracie. I originally really didn’t want an overused name but I think Grace is used much more in the middle then as a first name?

How many do you know? How old? Do any have Gracie as their BC name?

Thank you for your help...it sure is tough naming a human.

I know a Gracie (6) and a Grace (4). That’s it. I agree it’s more common as a middle name at the moment. Grace is a lovely classic name - personally, I’m less keen on Gracie.

Two age 4 and newborn

Yogafairy · 06/08/2020 18:18

I know 5 girls called grace. All in year 2 and 3.

misstoblerone85 · 06/08/2020 17:56

I know 3. One is late 30's, one is 17 and another is nearly 4. I have a few friends who have used it as a middle name though.

It was my Grandma's middle name and I love it but husband couldn't be convinced to use it

MrsSpookyM · 06/08/2020 17:53

I know 3, but they're all under 4 years old.

NC4Now · 06/08/2020 17:07

I know one in her 60s, one who is 15 and a couple aged about 5.

KoalasandRabbit · 06/08/2020 17:04

Two as first names of children and about 1/3 of all girls as a middle name, Rose also being very common. One Grace is 14, one is 7.

showmethegin · 06/08/2020 16:54

My sister is Grace, I sometimes call her Gracie. She is an excellent human being!

KarenKarendson · 06/08/2020 16:48
  1. Age range between 4 and 10.
foolishlyfoolish · 06/08/2020 16:44

2, one late 30s and the other 3. Lovely classic name imo, DD aged 7 doesn't have any in her year at school.

Apolloanddaphne · 06/08/2020 16:43

I know one that was born about two weeks ago. It is also my DDs middle name and she is 22. She has a friend called Grace too. That's it.

PaquitaVariation · 06/08/2020 16:43

I know 7 that I can think of without trying too hard, all between 10-14.

Bishoprick · 06/08/2020 16:41

I know several (too many to count) aged 5-18. A couple of them are known as Gracie.

Butwhhhyyyyyyy · 06/08/2020 16:40

Mine, she is 15 her nickname is Gracie, I know there are 2 others in her year at school but no others.

ItWorriesMeThisKindofThing · 06/08/2020 16:39

Three. They are aged 10, 11 and 15.

BiBabbles · 06/08/2020 16:36

Several, most are 12-14 with a few older. It along with Scarlett is one of the most popular names in my 13 year old's year. I'm not sure what's on their birth certificates.

I do know one woman whose name is Graciana which I think could be a great lesser used alternative to Grace.

tempnamechange98765 · 06/08/2020 16:30

I can think of four, one who is in her 20's, two who are 4 or 5 (in DC's class) and another one who's a baby.

It's a lovely name, you can't go wrong, it's a classic like Emily, Isobel, etc. When my DFriend announced it as her baby's name I did think it was a bit...dull? But I think mainly because she took weeks to name her so I was expecting it to be something less traditional.

TokyoSushi · 06/08/2020 16:29

2 x first names, literally a gazillion middle names!

Grufallosfriends · 06/08/2020 16:28

Gracie sounds like Stacie. I much prey just Grace!

Grufallosfriends · 06/08/2020 16:27

I know one Grace. Grace is beautiful but I'm not keen on Gracy. It takes away the beauty imo.

Friolero · 06/08/2020 16:00

My 7yo has a Grace and a Gracie in his class. As well as those two I know a couple of older Graces, one is 12 and one about 20.

Wheresthebiffer2 · 06/08/2020 16:00

Two, one aged 16yrs, the other aged 70plus.

maddy68 · 06/08/2020 15:58

I know 1

Springersrock · 06/08/2020 15:58

I’ve got one, plus I know of a few others.

Mine is 15, the others are much younger.

We didn’t know any others when we named her, and only came across the others when she went to school - they’re all a good few years younger than her, there are no other Graces in her year at school.

She’d kill you if you called her Gracie

AntiAuntieAnty · 06/08/2020 15:52

I know 5 altogether. Ranging in age from 3 to 35.

It is popular, but it's also timeless imo. Flash in the pan names date horribly. Grace is a name which could easily belong to a pensioner or a baby.

I would go for it.
